Forgot to say, if you detect more than one enemy TF game engine will try to split your forces according to their importance. So if you see one CV TF and another small minesweeping TF most or even all of your aircraft will attack CV TF (if you raise detection levels high enough to make sure both TFs are identified properly).
If you see two CV TFs game engine will try to hit them both according to their threat level they present to you, so if they are about equal in size and aircraft power your strike should be split close to 50/50%
