Hi!

(hypothetical: no appeasement at Munich)

Czechoslovakia vs. Germany in September 38
Small meeting engagement
1000 Points for each side
All options on (including command&control)
30 Turns

Who wants to play the German side?

Kind regards,
Roland

the allmighty german army has crossed the Czech border. Intel says they're only a recon company but maybe they're the spearhead.

Good luck

czech radio operators have intercepted a german message:

Advancing as planned. Not enemy contact yet. forward units under light mortar fire. No casualties. Recon platoons report cavalry sounds.

Czech CO was too bold and is now under fire, while German recon elements are going to cut off retreat route.
Surviving Czech tanks in exposed position and in immediate need for relief.
Contact to CO and tanks was lost when 75mm rounds srtarted to fall down.

Looks like I am in real trouble... :(

BTW:
This game is much more interesting than I anticipated :)

Yes.
The tanks outrunning the Infantry and the rest is history.
Beginners error. :(

Colonel Pekar was killed in action while defending the fatherland against the German invaders.
The remaining force is going to follow his example. ( ).

German broadcast on the battlefield:

Czechs. German colonel Krafft speaking.

Your leader is dead. You have no tanks. Your AA battery is taking casualties and has almost ceased to fire. Your artillery is not damaging our troops. The Henschel biplane is starting another run and soon your infantry will be overrun by panzers.

Resistance is not necesary.

Surrender now or die.

Germans!

As long as there is one AA gun....
As long as there is one 75 mm howitzer....
As long as there is one infantry squad....

.....we will not surrender!

Kind regards,
the Czech 2nd-in-command

:D

BTW:
Just lost another AA gun

Message to Czech 2nd-in-command:

You asked for it.

Sabers up !!!!

Charge !!!!!!

( one engineer platoon cut to pieces by a cavalry charge).

The other attacking platoon is running but in the opposite side

:D

The AA platoon has been reduced to a half crew ( 3 of 4 guns destroyed and the last catching bullets).

My advice:

Start running and don't stop till Praga.

- Sir (said the czech radio operator to second-in-command).

The germans are not aware they are transmitting in the same frequency we use. We've intercepted another report:

Enemy first line of defense wiped out. More than a hundred dead bodies found in enemy positions. Starting redeployment for final assault on entrenched enemy platoon.

- The biplane is coming again !!!!. Take cover !!!!!!!

The 2nd in command looked grim.
"So, they are aware of our Alamo position. Fine. Order smoke on the position. Forcing them into a close fight, we will at least take some of them with us!"

PS: If this massacre becomes too boring for you, we can stop it.
As long as it continues, I still hope to achieve a marginal defeat - also at this point, this seems to be wishful thinking with no link to reality.

- Too late !! shouted the radio operator.

The german panzers started to fire everywhere in the patch of woods whilst advancing at full speed towards them. A short while after the first smoke shells started to rain.

The remaining czechs understood that the end was near...

PS: I'm really enjoying this game. If you want we can switch sides and start again and see who does each paper better.

The 3rd-in-command looked grim.
With the commander dead, the 2nd-in-command en route to praga, he wondered....
Will the artillery, using direct fire against the attacking Germans, achieve to kill at least one enemy unit?
There was no doubt that sooner or later, the Germans would storm the artillery position.

As soon as the artillery crews start to hear the loud sounds of panzer approaching an argument starts between the officer and some soldiers. A fist fight starts. The lonely officer is reduced and the artillery crews surrender... The fight is over.

PS: Will you play against me but changing sides ?

If so i want to feel free to choose my own core force.

After Colonel Pekar defeat the german army is closer to Praga.

Next stop is a group of hills. These hills control the road. If the hills are cleared by the german army the czech surrender will be unavoidable.

Czech HQ has deployed in the field his best commander to stop the german advance and eventually counterattack.

good luck.

Colonel Rentka looked from his position the advancing cloud of dust in the road. Then he radioed to the forward units to wait for the signal and concentrate fire on the leading tank.

When he saw the tank column with motorcycles on its flanks had starting to descend the hill and advancing towards the river bridge, he issued the order.

- Start firing. Fire at will !!

The battle started and shells started to rain by the road destroying the leading panzer almost inmeadiatly.

2 Czech tanks destroyed.
1 tank abandoned.
Situation stable - but what are the trucks doing on that southern hill?
And what is the intention of the bicycle troops?

Colonel Tost looked grim.
The advance on the northern flank was a horrible error - they destroyed an engineer squadron, but now a recon vehicle was in a position were it would surely be destroyed by Czech infantry.

And where are these dreadfull 83mm guns?
From where did they fire?

Suddenly, someone was yelling "Mortar fire coming in!"......
