Roger is attempting to invade the southern coast of Turkey but I think maybe I've moved enough Greek troops to stall him about 1/2 a turn. Maybe a little longer. Depends on how much of the invasion force he manages to get ashore.

Now here's a deployment you don't see often. Advanced. What in the world does that mean?

And another thing.........here we have me making an attack directly toward the south and there just happened to be some attack helicopters in the hex. They retreated out over the water to the NW. What in the world? I mean WTF? Anybody ever heard of such a thing happening to them? Is this normal?

Larry may have documented that the artillery bug was not actually fixed and that is burning our turns. Turn 8 is another turn burn. I only got one chance to make moves and combat for the fourth consecutive time.

And this time, I made sure every single unit in the game was set to minimize or limit losses. Absolutely no ignore losses. Absolutely no attacks involving low proficiency. Absolutely no battle planner icons using more than 10 percent.

Turn completely burned and ended in my one and only shot. This has never happened in any other scenarios.

Meanwhile, I continue soldiering on. Made some modest gains and now have Air Superiority set correctly to anticipate the bugged turn burn.

I think that most carrier groups are based around a single carrier, and they can only hold one air unit in TOAW(?). If that's the case then we're stuck with it for the carrier based aircraft.

A few countries do have quite significant river fleets, and this is the best I can do to simulate them. Numbers are about right, but whether a Vietnam era US river monitor is the equivalent of a modern Serbian missile armed fast river patrol boat is anyone's guess.

Missed your point completely, as so often before! Thought you were querying the unit, but you meant the deployment - short answer is that I've no idea. Very odd. 3.4 bug affecting riverine units?

Larry and I have decided to abandon the second of our two play-tests until the turn burn issue can be fixed within the scenario. So this will end the AAR for now.

Hope we were able to help Mark Stevens in some fashion. Larry and Mark are playing a tweaked version so I'm sure this will be a great one once it's fixed. I love the size and scope.

I'm not suspecting a bug in and of itself, just that I've never seen the word "advanced" applied to the deployment of a unit before now. I suspect it's something new for river boats or something.

You may be interested in a few screenshots from my ongoing playtest with Bob. All self-explanatory, covers the Central, Balkan and Middle Eastern Fronts. Turn 4, but before you think to yourself 'This looks like a piece of p**s for the Russians' do note that: they've just lost their initial air and shock bonuses - simulating surprise; this still counts as a NATO significant victory, and that the shots are taken from the Russian turn, so there are considerable numbers of unseen and unidentified NATO units (plus whatever's on its way from the western NATO countries). I don't think there is a turn burn issue: the Russians - admittedly with their bonuses - have been getting two or three phases per turn, which is fine. Probably drop to two or one as resistance stiffens, which suits a half-week turn: just enough to punch a hole and maybe slightly exploit a major offensive, but not to rampage all over the shop without NATO getting a chance to respond.

Happy to answer any questions/comments.

Hey Mark:  Um........it would save a couple of clicks if you would kindly edit those posts to embed the image in the post.  That way it'll show us what it is w/o having to click on something.  We could just scroll down a  little bit.  Thanks in advance my friend.

A few more screenshots from T10 of my playtest against Bob - pretty self-explanatory, although more than happy to answer any questions if required. Again, do note that this still qualifies as a NATO marginal victory. Out of shot the Spanish and Portuguese are glaring at the Moroccans and Algerians at Gibraltar, and NATO is mopping up failed assaults on Iceland and Sicily - its naval superiority prevents conventional reinforcement of opportunistic attacks made by airmobile, marine and special forces.

The Balkans - the Serbs and Montenegrins have been relieved and Russian forces have (just about) reached the Mediterranean)

Isreal still exists as a nation even in turn 10.  Wow!  Way to go.
