China T9 played. Still consolidating and building infrastructure. I sent the turn to Srndac, who I believe has asumed the role of Germany.

And right you are Jeff!
Srndac is busily repairing the damages done to Germany ... a new line against the French is forming on the Elbe, while the 700+ horses uselessly stocked in the main HQ are being sent to the Russian front to soften the blow of the Red Horde's assault.
Turn sent to France.

Yup - or (more importantly) 140 staff ... I'm really miffed at Hatem90 for building pointless things - and not building important ones ... no wonder the Germany was losing the war ...

China Turn 10 sent to Germany. China rearranges units and tries to establish some logistical capability via roads, staff and horses. Yes horses. Laugh all you want, it's still the first decade or two of 1900 !

Turn sent on. Delay due work issues.

France takes Gibraltar, Munich and Hamburg in which is what surely is a blow to the european imperialist alliance.

One pesky landing of British in Main France repelled. 2 more remain.

Seems Tom is looking for enough supply for the winter turns. Horsemeat, horse sausages, horse soup, ...

May Britain offer some fish and chips?

I think we've made a mistake. Did the same turn get passed around again ?

Russian Turn 12 sent.  I am able to capture Berlin but from a narrow thrust.  I might not hold if counter attacked.

Given the advent of ATG and the still-early stage of this game, do we want to keep going? Will there be an ATG version?
Just wondering what everyone thinks.

Dunno really. I have fun but the speed is excruciatingly slow.

I'm wondering what happened to the freaking turn. Have been for 10 days now. It's fun for sure but almost impossible to keep track of. Not sure if the GD mod will ever get ported to ATG, the AI speed could make a real improvment in solitaire games as one nation vs. a world of AI.

This game is going to be very interesting because of the relatively weak position Germany is in and normally Germany dominates these games. I think this opens things up considerably.

The idea of a server based PBEM system, where profiles and statistics are kept and openly shown, makes a whole lot of sense to me. The game status, turn status and turn file are all shown and all available to all players. PLayer statistics relevant to the PBEM community are shown in the avatar. That way, there is no confusion and the habits of the players is clear to everyone before a game is started.

So, rant aside, can we keep playing ?

I don´t mind playing this game of GD...

I actually started on a web application for managing PBEM games a year or so ago, but never finished.

The idea was that you don't e-mail your turns any more, you upload them to the web application and then the web application sends an e-mail to the next person telling them that their turn is ready for download.

The idea was to have a status page for every game that you could see exactly whose turn it was that everyone was waiting on. No muss no fuss.

I thought there might be 2 different types of games: ones where there was a fixed turn rotation (like AT) and one where the next turn was dependent on game situations (i.e. sub-turns, a good example of this is Empire in Arms).

Since ATG has come out i am thinking about working on it some more.

Well, honesty compells me to step forward as the chief slacker, I'm afraid ...
Won't bore you with excuses - although Bombur & Jeff will have to endure me a while longer - so, to get to the point:

Anyone want to take over the running of Germany and Turkey?

Since the situation in Europe is complicated, I'd suggest that either China, Japan or Brasil take over ... but then, that's my 0.02$ only.

With my sincere apologies
Germano-Ottoman (about to be) Emperor (in exile) Srndac

Maybe those willing to give up could surrender? Otherwise it will be complicated to have so many players with more than one country....
On GD for ATG....I´m almost finishing a Bombur mod for ATG, it will be the first step for a future ATG GD mod....

I think the resources could make the GD mod more interesting than before.
