Probably a dumb question.

I've tried disbanding some support units and found no change to the production screen. Specifically I disbanded a bunch of Soviet motercyle regiments and saw no change to motercycle squad, armament, or manpower pools.

Is there some sort of delay here or are my troops going into a black hole???

Thanks.

Non-damaged squads should return to the pool, but the ground element types used by the motorcycle regiment are in high demand, so they're probably removed from the pool again in the next logistics phase.

I disbanded and immediately checked production. No change.

Sigh, that kind of removes the point of disbanding the units like I do.

You're 100% correct, this is completely bugged as disbanded support units don't return anything back to the pool. I'll report it.

Check the regular units as well. I was testing at home (at work now) and I disbanded a german tank division and nothing was added to production.

I checked regular units too, but the ground elements from those are being added to the pool (make sure you check the "pool" line for a unit and not another line).

OK I only checked one unit and only the tanks. I was heading out the door so might have missedread the screen.

Tonight I'll disband half the army and see what happens.

OK I've confirmed that regular units and also HQ units send replacements back to the pool when disbanded.

Support units do not. Has this been loged as a bug or do I need to post elsewhere.

Yes, I need more detailed. I tried to disband some German support units at the start of 1941 and it went as it should.

I tried disbanding German support units with 1.01 and that worked, so maybe it was some form of corruption with the beta 5 version.

Nope. The problem is that none of the elements are going back into the pool.

I started a new Russian campaign just now under 1.01. Go to production and record the number of motercycle, 152 howitzer, manpower, vehicles, armament, etc. Then go around and start disbanding support units. Go back to production and it will be the same.

When you disband other units they show up in the pool immediately. Support units seem to vaporize.

I check again.

Now after.

Note in particular that vehicles in units dropped but vehicles in pool stayed the same.

Now I disband an infantry division.

Notice vehicles in units drops by 57 and vehicles in pool increases exactly by 57. Just as it should. Everything happens instantly but support unit elements disappear.

This is on 1.01. Started on 1.01.

Got it. The problem is that code incorrectly treats the supply state of the support units on disband. Instead of looking at the HHQ unit it looks at the support unit itself, which is normally 0 after logistic phase. So the only time it works correctly is the turn 1 before logistic phase.

Will fix. Thanks.

KAHHHHHHHHNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!! KAHANNNNNNNNNNNNNNN! Felt like a good William Shatner Wrath O' Kahn yell. Well, sure could of saved some time with my turn one I guess. If the Germans were equally screwed note to self don't disband support elements it gives you no  benefit.

Not sure I understand the explanation of why it is happening but no matter. I'm sure it will be fixed in next patch.

I have confirmed that the germans can disband support units on turn 1 and it works properly. After turn one their elements just evaporate like the Soviets.

So does it work for fortified zones? I assume yes?

Disbanding fortified zones definately works.

Problem seems to be with disbanding off-map units. i.e. support units.
