Will the Zis-30 fix get into this update? It would be nice to have more anti-armour capability in 41!

Not in this update. I got fixed device file from Jim, so it should be in one of coming patches. It won't get into ongoing games though.

Don't put much hopes on ZiS-30 - it is not a wunderwaffe.. especially in homeopathic quantities it comes :)

Drat, but thanks for the efforts to put out the patches in the holiday season regardless.

Certainly it is...my troops are failing to stop the oncoming Panzer hordes due to the lack of this one particular weapon! There is enough produced each week to make 3 Bn of them.

At the moment I'm fairly convinced that the Panzers come with some sort of magic force field bubble that stops them from getting killed since I trade at about 1:100 in combat if I am lucky. My feeling is that they loose more tanks moving to the combat then in it.

Anyhow, even after years of reading about the war in Russia some of the tank types are new to me. So far as I can see for obvious reasons since they die, die, die. The T40, and T50 are tanks I had never heard of before, I had always wondered why they skipped from T34 to T60 and now I know...they didn't, the T50 actually looks sort of ok-ish but I guess having the factory convert to T34-M1942 and then start to build is better in the long run then a lot of T50 tanks followed by a lower production of T34s. Anyway the Zis-30 looks to be no worse then the famed Panzerjäger I!

On a more serious note, does this mess up any production chains? As the factories, according to redmarkus, don't make anything even in 1942.

Your loss ratio in tanks is partly from tanks shot at while your units retreat, and others are abandoned because they are damaged.

Great! Huge improvement on my mediocre machine. Now I can finally begin a GC without risking death of old age.

There will never be a 'final' patch; the game will be patched through eternity as each new bug is found and worked on.

This is a general question regarding patches in general for WitE: will a restart of a game ever be needed to get all benefits from a patch? This was sometimes needed with WitP:AE and I am just wondering if there will ever be a time where it a campaign restart will be needed with this game due to a patch.

Thanks

Chad

The same logic as in WITP, if you want to benefit form data related fixed you need to restart. For example, there will be some data changes in comping patch, but I don't see any which would be important enough for restart.

But you'd still have to live with past results of say, over-effective AA decimating your fighter strength earlier in the game. No patch will give you your airplanes back, it will just change the way they are handled by the game engine going forward. Whether that's justification for a restart is each player's judgment call.

You should have received a serial number when you bought the game.  A number should have been sent to you online, and the CD itself should have it.

The 102 version plays a lot better than 1.01. Any news on release of patch? Went back to do multiplayer and dont like the slowness.

If you like the 1.02 beta patch, I suggest you use it for multiplayer as well (just get your opponents to upgrade). I'm guessing we will put out another beta patch next week. I don't know when or what Erik has planned regarding making anything "official".

1.02 Beta 1 will not allow the game to start, I get this error message instead. Reverting to 1.01 works fine.

This patch seems to be a step backward from a mouse perspective--one of the previous patches fixed my mouse problems, but this one seems to restore the problems (delays in selecting units, etc.). For instance, a lot of times when I am trying to attack a unit or move to a hex, my unit will be deselected and the other unit (defending unit, destination hex) is selected instead. Also, I often have to click on a unit multiple time in the right colum to deselect it.

While this might sound like a minor issue, it is starting to turn me off the game given the vast number of units in larger scenarios--the constant delays with selecting units and other problems is a huge pain.

Also, the in-game update does not work for me (I realize it wont work with the beta patches, but it also did not work with the official patch)--I just get a rather vague message saying that there has been a problem and I should contact Matrix.

Waiting to start a campaign game! And dont want to have all the installation issues described in earlier posts

Sorry in advance to all those people who will say "It will come when it comes"
