I have wanted to read these for a very long time but never wanted to track down the entire series. Has anyone manged to read all 21?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/039306011X/ref=s9_simh_gw_p14_d1_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-3&pf_rd_r=1TA59V8R2K4WSXNJJSDW&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938811&pf_rd_i=507846

I have done a lot of reading over my life. But 7000 pages should take around a year ;)

I also got this for my Kindle
http://www.amazon.com/Spies-Balkans-Novel-Alan-Furst/dp/1400066034/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1293355422&sr=1-1

Any opinions of the two items?

I'm reading Will Durant's History of Civilization. God, that's a read.

I love that series, I must have read it 4 or 5 times since the early 90s. also have it all on audio books too. The prose is great, although (fans close your eyes here) it can drag a little in places. It is also very, very funny at times. All in all probably the best 20 and a bit books you can get in a boxed set.

Enjoy and welcome to the (other) madness that is the the Aubrey/Maturin world.

Fallschirmjager,

I had that on my wish list, and noticed there are only a few left, so I ordered the set. Thanks for the heads up.

I was thinking about the Kindle but I could find only one Volume of David Edding's The Belgariad. I was a sad puppy.

Wow, 7,000 pages! I'm proud of myself when I get through a 800 page book, which mind you usually takes about as long as the age of khan :D My short attention span could never allow such a feat!

I could read 7000 pages in a year, I believe.  I read a lot.  I'm reading an 800 page historical fiction book right now.  I just started it and only read at lunch and am about 15% into it.  I love books so much, I'm seriously thinking about writing a book (or trying to).  I have a lot of ideas bouncing around up there in the noggin.  I am just not sure if I have the capability.  I have pitched my one idea of a book to several family members (who aren't known for heaping praise on me, usually good-natured ridicule) and they have said that it is a very interesting idea.

I read between 500-1500 pages a week for work so pleasure reading is always welcome. I need to clean out my Kindle books and then I can focus on these full time. I read the first 40 pages or so and like what I have read. O'Brian wasted no time in introducing us to the main characters and get the story rolling along quickly by giving Jack his first ship in less than 30 pages.
I love when fiction gets to the point quickly and does not have chapter after chapter of build up.
