As I understand it moving ones HQ units causes general vehicles to become damaged as they struggle to move depot supplies.

I also know I need to move my HQ's to provide supply to my Units as well as to parcel out support units. So currently I am pretty much moving my Corp HQ's every turn, and my army HQ's about every 3rd turn.. AG and HC almost never.

How are you guys handling this and what has been your observations. This is of course from the Axis side, I assume the SU side is somewhat different.

Move 'em by rail, if you can.

I've been doing that (since reading your response) and it helps some for sure but my INF Corps are moving much faster than I can repair rail so the armour/motorized forces are WAY ahead.

So rather than keeping corp HQ's far to the rear, I am moving them up every turn which is consuming alot of my trucks. Is this how most folks are handling things?

Hmmmmm - I haven't even considered this at all and have been moving my HQ's around quite a bit. Guess I'd better rethink that one eh?

Well AZ I haven't left the Corp HQ's in the rear yet to see.. but I imagine it would wreak heck with your divisions supplies. I also tend to keep SU mostly with the corp HQ rather than Divisions so it pays to keep my Corp HQ's deployed far forward. Army HQ's follow the railroad men and AG/HC rarely move. I need to formulate doctrine for moving airbases also. It just seems I am losing and damaging so many trucks each turn I am worried. Maybe the number I am losing isn't too bad?! This is the start ofturn 3 in road to Leningrad

I always moved my corps Hq's with my advancing divs/units.Its turn 5 as Axis gc and am just starting to move my army Hq's forward along with airbases.Still,I have my corps Hq's at the most 3 hexes from forward units, yet they still dont have full supply,I assume this is the use of motorpool vehicles penalty. Can someone explain please.I assume the numbers circled in shot are amount of less recieved supply? So the Hq is receiving 78% less supply then it should? Also what do the numbers in brackets 32 and 22 mean?

This is MP to rail. You are getting penalties for being to far from rail.

You mean undamaged rail correct?Because the unit is on a rail but its damaged. The rail repair is going way to slow,so would it be better to have the corps Hq's near/on functional rails and let motor pool ferry supplies to the divs?

Yes, undamaged rail. You still have to keep your HQ close (5 hexes) to your units to provide them supplies. Otherwise the will start to pull supplies from the railhead as well.
