I fear I won't recognize myself either...if I'll still have the ability to function properly afterward

Ahh the disappointment, the pain...the acting.
Btw, I wanted a relaxing saturday night in SR2 and J had to bring up eve soundtrak...now that I finally finished listening to it you brought up this fragment and now I just have to watch again a couple of DS9 episodes. Too much good stuff going on....

I'm almost over with DS9. That leaves me with TOS and with ENT.

You know I really like what you did with this era's ships. These are some very nice works indeed.

Hello, is there a Star Trek mod that span from the early Archer Era to the latest Nemesis Era? is it do-able now?

Igard has it.....what a surprise, I know. Haven't found the proper link yet, maybe lordxorn's compendium includes it also.
But again, when ST modding is mentioned Igard for sure has it....even if it's about a race that appears in the museum of another race during a couple of minutes in a single episode

One single mod that spans all eras? That would be my holy grail of DW mods.

I'd love to see us do this someday. Start the game with Archer's ships, then as tech advances, move onto the TOS ships. The AI controlled empires would have to keep up though. Perhaps an overall research points value would determine your current shipset.

You can find the mods I've done so far in my cargobay. Just follow the links to the DW mods. And if you haven't already, take a look at the shipyards and you'll find out why I haven't been playing DW much recently.

Hi Igard,

What are your recommended race settings for this mod; I mean for the 9 races you should use in this mod? Thanks for the info and help.

Regards,

Tony

Hiya Tony. Now, let me have  a good think here.

Feds - Democracy - mature - level 4 - Normal
Hydran - Monarchy - expanding - level 3 - Normal
Gorn - Monarchy - expanding - level 3 - Normal
Klingon - Feudal - mature - level 4 - Normal
Kzinti - Feudal - expanding - level 3 - Normal
Lyran - Feudal - expanding - level 3 - Normal
Romulan - Republic - mature - level 4 - Normal
Tholian - Monarchy - expanding - level 4 - Excellent

Orions have many small factions as they're pirates, so why not create a few small empires. The only drawback to this is that you'll get Orions scattered throughout the galaxy. These are a few of the Orion factions to consider :-
  • The Orion Cartel
  • The Camboro Cartel
  • The Crimson Shadow (The House of Korgath)
  • Prime Industries
  • The Tiger Heart Cartel
  • The Beast Raiders
  • The Syndicate
  • The Wyldefire Compact
You can make each of the as strong, or as weak as you like (I always make The Syndicate stronger than the others). I'd recommend that the House of Korgath be a Klingon race and not Orion.

You can also make other Klingon 'House' factions if you wish.

Hope that's of some use to you.

* Sincere question *
Did not someone say that the system begins to act flakey if you have more than 30-something races? Or was it closer to 40?

Tony asked for the settings on this mod, the one on which this thread was opened (Spock Era) so it applies to it.
I think it will act flakey on both counts depending on the rigs each of us have.

Im really surprised any true Star Trek fan even mentions the 'Archer Era' that was the biggest screw up in the whole ST universe , continuity was shot to bits ...

Season 4 of Enterprise was actually quite good. A couple of bad episodes, but for the most part, it felt like it was starting to get warmed.

All too late of course. Why they had the whole Xindi arc, I'll never know, enjoyable as it was, and the temporal cold war? What were they thinking writing a TV series starring Scott Bakula of all people into a time travel story!!?? As if the poor guy hadn't had enough of that stuff already!

Never really been a Trek Fanatic but when you take into account they even employed crew to check door numbers on shots in TNG, seeing TNG Klingons in it just really ruined it for me. I even forgave the problems with Voyager and the whole origin with Seven of Nine but Enterprise was just too polished for me, it just looked to new to even think it based before Kirk and his merry men speaking of which ...

Star Trek Meets Monty Python

The only reason apart from some funky ship designs, that didnt fit the era, to watch it was ...

Hi all.

I've been looking for a new 4X game for a while now and have to say the deciding factor for me was when i discovered all the high quality mods available for DW.

I'm a massive Star Trek and Star Wars fanboy plus i'm also a massive modslut.

Having helped make mods for DoW i know how much hard work and dedication it takes so i just wanted to say thanks to you and all the other mod makers for making this old modslut's weekend.

I'm looking forwards to playing this and all the other mods on these forums.

Live long and prosper.
