hi all, Been having a blast with the new updates but I wanted to know the possibility to mod the ship maintenance cost. This comes mostly from the desire of having well, not legend of the galactic heroes size battles but massive engagements. Right now, maint seems to be about (taken in account supplies cost) about 1/3 of the base cost and that seems, well, huge. If possible I am shooting for a 1/10.
Quite aware that this might lead to slowdowns, but hey, only one way to know for sure.

actually, the maintenance depends on the prices for the resources used to build the ship so modding this could affect a hole lot of other things as well
if you want to make them cheaper to maintain, get tons of reserve resources for those used to build them.....the minimal price is 1 so you can't get lower than that

Thought the resource price/availability were one of the modifiers, but if there is no easy to mod value, it might be easier to jack up colony income.

Mind you, I'd need to know where to look, so far that hasn't been going too well either. Real shame we don-t have an easy to mod variable like with hyperdrives

Yes, nothing moddable yet in this regard, but I'm hopeful that we'll get there.

I havent found anything to fix the prices of resources.  But with the help of few people around here they told me to mod the RACES.TXT  for my reckless needs. 

Indeed is a kick in the performance but a strong machine can handle 4000 of my ships state,  military and other mixed,   plus the other thousands that the races has built.

What i have done is set the mantainance to everyone 70% less of military ships and troops.  Modified the build rate of the races,  so they build more ships,  ive been constructing lots of mining bases,  improving other bases to collect more,  and up to now i haven't had a problem with resources,  and to tell you the truth,  its been very bad lately,  up to now,  for me and others in the game,  now i am at war with 5 powers and also the Shakturi,  but this guys is eating the core of my empire,  mostly the enemy had revealed themselves during the game,  lots of ships to handle,  also the ancients is at war with 4 races and holding the front at their planet.  Im playing in a 1400 star map.

Wow, that sounds like it's beyond epic
I hope you can finish it by the time the next expansion makes it's first contact
