Hi.

How can I generate the special German letters ü, ö and ä when naming map locations and units in the editor? Trying the normal way, like I just did in this post, only turns up squares.

There has been an issues with special letters after version 3.29... and it's not solved yet. BUT...

a) Use an .XML editor to edit the places, unit names afterwards. E.g. just use a/o/u and then convert them to the "Umlaut".

b) If you're not familar with Notepad++ or an .XML editor, use the TOAW III Editor by Andy Edmiston aka parmenio. See forum thread TOAW III Editor (BETA)

You can edit unit names there with ease. HOWEVER, not the place/location names.

If you need help with the .XML stuff, drop me a line Kamerad Danmark.

Will the German language keyboard work? It can be enabled through Control Panel\Regional and Language options. I can't test it, it doesn't seem to map out properly on my laptop keyboard.
