I'm getting ready to start a new game v. the AI.

Is this beta stable enough for that?

Probably...but caveat emptor

I've found 2 minor issues with the m5 beta - see screenshot.

The first one is fairly obvious. The number found in the parenthesis of the supply section is wrong (and different from the total on the other screens). Though I would really wish to have that many supplies available. :)

The second one is about the circled number in the midget sub line. If I deselect "show all ships" and select it again, the number will reliably increase by 4.

That the refuel setting in the TF screen also used at the home port to set how much is fueled when using the manual option is new to me, did that come with on of the latest version?
But the setting normally just sets how much is refueled at the destination hex aka none-home or waypoint port, correct? Or does it now also work differently?

Totals not being cleared on refresh of list. Only affects screen count, not actuals. Also Affects all four of the bottom section counts.
[edit]
Actually the counts should not change regardless.

Not sure what you are referring to?

Simple problem. Second total is including ALL bases rather than those owned by player.

I'm playing with m4 in a mod and I have both "Get New Pilot" and "Request Veteran" greyed out for all Allied air units. Is there a simple fix to this that I'm overlooking??

You sure the groups aren't already at their limits.
Post a save if still in doubt.

Here is a japanese mid-turn save where you can try it out yourself (renamed to .zip).

While we are at it, here is a replay that shows the allied carrier fighters perform ~20 sweeps in the same phase. The allied carrier fleet is strong, but (hopefully) not THAT strong. Chris has confirmed that it is always the same fighters showing up.

Tweaked Pilot overflow to clear more pilots. Corrected some discrepancies in pilot numbers [MEM]

Clarification:
Once the free pilot threshold gets too low, the game will now lower the excess pilot threshold from 1/3rd to +20% and then to +10%.

This is required to keep things moving.
I know some people will complain about this but it is either this or break current games and the tools associated with it.
Maybe at some future time, the change can be co-ordinated.

Where abouts are the sweeps happening?

saying it would always be the same fighters was just propaganda, of course I am able to send 1000 fighters on sweep and have another 3000 on Cap...

seriously, these (if not all of them then at least most) must be always the same. Must be the same flaw we´ve seen lots of times in the game already when 100 P-38 were showing up on sweep/escort numerous times in the same turn when I actually only had 100 at the base they were coming from.

from my carrier fleet sitting West of Okinawa, attacking the base NE of Naha, whatever the name of the base is.

edit: it´s Nago, here´s the cr about it. Always the same squadrons and not only a display flaw as these repeating sweeps do engage aircraft if they meet them. This is happening with the m5 beta but was also happening numerous times with the latest official patch. Not LRCAP or leaking Cap as the target has been four hexes away IIRC.

michaelm several of us have reported problems running 1108m5 beta with tracker. Can I ask is this an issue with the beta or is it a problem the tracker team need to look at ? Up to 1108m2 I had no problems but this is the error I get running a new tracker install with 1108m5 save.

Answered in the Tracker thread... (change the dll in the tracker folder)

Michael - there are 2 different dlls one for the M4 and one the M5 with differing dates - the M5 has a later date ... Is this by design?

Sorry it does not work for either dll. I used the dll from the m4 and m5 beta - 2 different dll files - same error message each time. New tracker install.

No longer able to withdraw ships in the off map areas around Cape Horn until the ship really gets to Cape Horn..This is true of this patch and the last patch..

I was also not able to withdraw from Manila, in supply, I own the air, lots of brass hats and support..Size 9 port.

I'm using Tracker with 1108m5 without changing the Tracker DLL since that AE version that first required the change (I forget which Beta that was).

That the refuel setting in the TF screen also used at the home port to set how much is fueled when using the manual option is new to me, did that come with on of the latest version?
But the setting normally just sets how much is refueled at the destination hex aka none-home or waypoint port, correct? Or does it now also work differently?

Not sure what you are referring to?

Well I tried to refuel a TF at its home port but the button was greyed out, so I thought it should than fuel at its destination hex so I changed the setting for that and when I changed it from "Do not refuel" the manual refuel button wasn't greyed out anymore, not only this but setting it ti minimal didn't make them refuel as the TF had enough fuel and as I set it to Full refuel the TF refuel, so altogether the setting for refuel seems not only to work at the destination hex but also at the port where the TF is at the moment.
Maybe I don't remember this correctly but I don't think it was this way in earlier beta versions, don't get me wrong I like it they way it is as the TF can be refueled like I think it needs to, I just wonder because I haven't seen this in earlier versions(or maybe I overlooked it).

I get a different error message when I try running tracker with original dll and 1108m5 beta. New tracker install.

Duke, it has been working as you now observe at any port at least as far back as the last official patch, 1106i. I'm pretty sure the Do Not Refuel setting would prevent Refuel From Port in earlier versions than that, also.

Doesn't work for me, either.
It did before when I tried it before packaging.

Memory issue, not the DLL.

The DLL in the Tracker directory should be dated 9 May
