You must have been inhaling too many fumes in your own lab.  They have addled your brains.  Nice AAR.  You should post it up.

With regard to the issues you mention, most are already known:

Issues seen (394)
- recce in groups
Not reported as an issue, but probably should since it screws recon.  All patrol missions are screwed the same way.
- torpedoes going after rogue targets
Already reported: http://tinyurl.com/6fngmt
- Bears stuck at loiter
Could be this one: http://tinyurl.com/6rnf8w
- oh and I saved the game as Inprog.sav, but subsequent saves took place in the Falklands folder as BetwRock.SAV.
Already reported: http://tinyurl.com/bw9z66

Great to see you playing one of your 'old' ones.

p.s. come chat so that we can fix your gun problem and finalize Baltic for release

Ive replayed this scen from the Russia side. The results indicate my advancing age - every feature I built in snookered me!

I decided to lanch tankers, bonbers and recceplanes for theirlong flight from Luanda. I also sent two Hormole helos out to hunt for signals from my primary target Nimitz.

The Victor class SSN meanwhile crept towards the HMAS Melbourne, which was patrolling nearby at low speed.

After some hours, Victor was about 2nm from the centre of the formation and started firing. 17 torpedoes were fired in quick succession for only 4 targets. Most torpedos seemed to be decoyed by distant targets but an amphib, DDG, minesweeper and merchant were sunk. HMAS Melbourne survived and Victor was killed (though later I could not find a weapon expended that ahd sunk her).

The Americans meanwhile has E2s and F4s up, and killed two of my helos. These had detected a tight group of ships on the edge of the SSM range from Novo, but I decided to hold fire untill the Bears arrived. Several American Vikings appraoch the Novo formation and were killed by the guns of Sverdlow.

Suddenly Novo was under attack by Corsairs, and took hit after hit though her missiles also downed some of the US planes. At 70% damage, it was amazing that she could still operate planes, missiles and radars, and her speed was unimpaired

The Argentine AI meanwhile was getting its airbases on Falklands hit by the British, and was carrying oout its own recce. Its recce planes however came in in groups of 4 and got themselves killed. San Luis did better, detecting both the Carrier group and the Amphib group.

American carrier based planes took out Rivadavia, destroying all planes on the ground but losing a number of their own against Argentine defenders. The FAS also regularly engaged harriers coming too close from the mainland and shot down several.

My Bears had tanked and were approaching the exclusion zone when the Argentine air attacks started. Wave after wave of skyhawks, Daggers and Super Etendards, preceded by Mirage and Sabre fighters brushed aside the CAP and attacked the ships. Illustrious got hit several times by bombs, Illustrious by two Exocets, and several destroyers and frigates were hit. Turboprops from Port Stanley managed to sink Fearless, which was already hit by a torpedo hit from Victor.
The attacks were murderous, but so was the SAM fire and the harriers, and maybe 20% of planes RTBd.

At this time the net around the US group was tightening, but Id not found the carrier in the formation. There was an SPS/6B radar radiating, and when I boldly overflew the group it turned out to be a Fletcher class DDG escorting a small group of merchants. My four Bears, now down to three, had to reorient for an open ocean search for the Carrier group. The enemy air patrols were spread over a wide area, not giving indications of the landing pattern, so she was probably farther away than my air defense radar on Novo could see.

The Argentines meanwhile carried out a determined attack on the amphibs, sinking a second troop carrier, several warships, but no carriers.

I ordered the Bears to low altitude, as one of my Bears got a contact on a group around 600nm from the Bears, which contained Nimitz. I was down to one Bear Recce, and then noticed that the missile carrying bear groups (9 of them) had loitered at low altitude, showed loiter and Full radio buttons in their speed window and could not be made to go again. Disappointing as they were is OK position for the attack on nimitz.

- oh and I saved the game as Inprog.sav, but subsequent saves took place in the Falklands folder as BetwRock.SAV. Another new feature.

The scen however remains fun to play
