This might be the most continental planets I've ever seen in a game let alone in a single system!

Yeah, that's 142 planets and no, I did NOT edit that in.

A few other oddities are in this game, the Ancient Guardians have a system with 26 barren planets with many of them having ruins on them...um, why are my ruins wasted like that.

There is another system with something like 37 continental planets also, I found that one and was like damn, that's alot of planets, until I found the Frog's system.

All kinds of strangeness, anyone have anything like it?

On second thought, please do upload a saved game for this. Not only for Elliot to investigate it but for the rest of us to envy your luck. I think we can call it luck

Edit: btw, are you on the vanilla versions? rots? 1.5.0.8? do you use any mods?

Vanilla ROTS 1.5.0.8  While I do have one of the Star Trek mods, I haven't loaded it for the last few days well, except for the Fed's ships and sound effects (default humans I just can't handle).

Not really complaining about it at all, Sir Cookie, but it just struck me as so odd and naturally the questions of how and why.  So many systems in other clusters were so devoid of good planets and then, bam, here is everything!

The only thing I can think of that might have caused it was me rerolling a few maps.  I didn't want a split system start and kept getting that.  I'll happily load a save when I figure out how/where etc.

Uploaded now. Braedonnal - Hellaworlds - 1.5.0.8

Please figure out what went wrong (or so very, very right).

Now, I must plan to obliterate the frogs out of that system because clearly my humans need those 142 planets (plus a moon but who is counting) to themselves!

One moon to 142 planets ROFLMAO
This one will be a lot of fun for Elliot to investigate

You still need to start a tech support thread.

Just copy and paste the details from here.

I bet you that he is the only guy who does not have FUEL problems... :)

To quote someone we all know: One moon to 142 planets: wow, I mean WOW.
And that does not include all of IGard's cloaked moons. :)

It would be great if Igard's hand was involved in this as we'd have a good explanation for this improbability

Igard: here we have eight cloacked moons in this image, how many do you see?
The rest of us: only one at the far right of the series
Igard: ok, this clearly shows that I need to increase the brightness on my monitor...again. Can't have anyone else see my cloaked moons

I can just imagine some old man with cataracts and big thick glasses with a monitor so bright it illuminates the room like a sunbed.

I don't like it when he delays retribution for our bashing, I suspect a romulan maneuver being planned....we'll not like it

Better put your Long Range Scanners on full Data!

...and as far as the 142 planets in a system goes....WOW! NEVER, EVER heard of that one. I'd even
bet the editor would crash the game before that many could be generated. I've got to look at that
save game he has, especially if he is using the Star Trek mod. Curious?

I'm warping back to the Briar Patch Labs immediately!

I think we'd crash before the editor if we'd try to place that many planets....and one moon
Btw, was that "LRS on full data"..Data?

Awesome. You probably could have a viable empire within the one star system!

i find this difficult to believe, look how close the planets are to each other, and look how a lot of the planets make lines. i bet he just spammed continental planets all over the system with the editor.

and you wouldn't crash with that many planets at one system using the editor, i have done it before. it would just be really slow, but that's more than enough for a screenshot.

But how much time that would take, even with a fast clicker...and for what? Plus he would have to edit the colonies as well.

Then why would he go to the trouble of making a tech support thread and downloading File Zilla and uploading a bug report?

Sounds like alot of hassle if he was just winding us all up.

Quite an accusation there Sir...

Hmm, this kind of system would be perfect for a LONG war for a single system, the kind of was I love in games. Every piece of rock counts. Reminds me of the quintuple star systems from Elite First Encounters, those had HUUUUUUUUUUUGE distances involved, and like 20-40 planets and moons at least. Too bad you can't have twin or triple star systems in DW, would rockzors.

Cheers

Which begs the question, how close can you place stars using the editor?

Not close enough, I guess there's a limit, I tried placing one next to each other or at least in the same system and it didn't work

Why, because it has never happened to you? You've never experienced it before so therefore I must be lying or posting crap for the sake of it? Because I think a game's only developer should waste his time on something I made up rather than improve a game I like?

I've lurked for ages but saw something odd and asked others if they had seen it before. Some were quite helpful in pointing me in the direction of what they experienced and what to do to report it (and thank you for that) but having my sincerity and integrity attacked really makes me wish I hadn't said a thing.

Wow in my current game there is a system with 8 planets/moons that are inhabited. And I thought that was a lot.  To me it seems like a rare statistical anomaly, or some sort of a bug.

Isn't this kind of thing bound to happen after you've researched the Infinite Improbability Drive ? I'm just surprised there aren't more penguins in the system (or a whale)
