Hi Michael,

I hope I upload the save file correctly. I've never uploaded a save before.

Anyway, I've noticed the game freezing up from time to time in my game vs the Japanese AI. It always happens in China when a Japanese air unit bombs a Chinese held base. In this save, the example is when a flight of 9 Ann's bomb Nanyang (base 1109) from Hangkow.

I've noticed this about a dozen times. In the past, I would modify some orders and resave the game. If the same flight did the same bombing, it would freeze up again. But, if the flight bombed a different base, the turn would generally execute all the way through.

done with version 1108m1

Thanks, Brad

Well, I ran the turn two more times and it didn't freeze up either time. I don't know if you'll be able to recreate it.

I ran the turn and found there is a problem.
Has to do with units in combat with large number of devices.

Will fix in next build.

Funny how are all this time since release, there are still the odd bug in the original code, that just has to have the right set of circumstances to rear its sweet head.

Not at all surprising with a game of this complexity!

Fantastic troubleshooting and service, as usual, Michael!

And then the QA staff gets blamed for not being omniscient and able to think of every possible combination to test (never mind that they weren't given the budget to do even basic testing)!

Thats the excuse the guys at work give too.
I just tell them to go get someone from downstairs who uses the program to come try it for hour or so. It'll crash for sure for the most unusual user combo used everyday.

Hi Michael,

You found the bug with the air group attacking an LCU with too many devices. Do you know if the same bug would apply to LCU's attacking LCU's?

I ask because i had an LCU completely wiped out by an equal force. Only the Infantry LCU died (no disablements, only complete destruction of all devices and unit). The HQ and ENG units at the base were unaffected.

Oh, and the enemy force only bombarded.

I'm hoping the bug you found would fix both instances, not just the air group thing. Let me know and I'll try to provide a save if it'll help.

Thanks, Brad

It would have as it is part of the damage funtions caused by a device.
