Hi all,

Is there a production primer for Japan or maybe a few experts that can comment on how to set up production for Japan? I'm a little confused with where to send oil and resorces. I'm looking for something/someone that can not only tell me where the supplies/resorces/fuel should go but why it is needed there.

For example - If I increase an aircraft factory to produce 60 planes per month then that factory is going to need more supplies - right? So I assume I bump the supllies required up a notch or two? Which means I need to send more supplies to that base (or maybe just send more supplies to Japan?) - right?

Sorry if I sound dense - this game is a lot more complicated then what I expected when I first purchased it... I'm almost of mind to scrap my game as Japan VS the AI as the Allied side looks much easier to manage but I kind of hate to admit to getting my but kicked by the computer.

btw - davbaker & lobaron - thanks for writing those two documents in the War Room. Those have been really helpful for me.

Thanks,

ST

Against AI you can safely start expanding factories, only when you are completely sure, you need more goods of that type.

Also, Japan is your main supply producer. If you are short on supply there, you are in REAL troubles.

Generally, you need Resources in Light Industry centers, to produce supply.
You also need Resources, and Fuel in Heavy Industry centers, to produce supply AND HI points.
And you need fuel at larger bases, where you refuel your fleet.

Thanks Shellshock - that was very much what I was looking for.

Thanks n01487477 - I knew about the wiki but while I've fumbled around with Tracker a bit I've been feeling a little to overwhelmed to really get the most out of that tool. Those training videos you made should really help me out. I just watched your production macro video. Wow - I've been really ignorant of production. I'm really going to use these - thanks X2! I look forward to viewing your new Japan Primer video and hope it comes out soon.

Thanks inqistor - I am starting to have problems with production in my game VS the AI. Right now I have fuel and resources going to Tokyo and then it looks like it just spreads out to whichever base needs it. But there seems to be surges - so sometimes a base with factories won't produce for a while and then suddenly supplies arrive and things are ok for a while. Should I just try to set every base in Japan at a minimum 10k supplies?

I started reading a thread by Big Red. It looks like I'm making a lot of the same mistakes he was making. There is a LOT more going on then what I thought by reading the manual...

Some things may have been modified by patches since this one was started, but I would suggest learning at the master's knee.

No, last I heard RL had stepped in rather intrusively ... a lot of "travel".

Thanks USS America - I like this. I like how Mike Solli discribes what he is planning and why. And I like the comments from the followers. It makes for a great Q&A session.

Supplies (as for name Supplies) are only needed for repair. You should manually set every base, with damaged factories, to keep over 10k. But remember, that number sent will be 3 times what you request, so setting it at 4k should be enough, because, when you set 10k, you will get 30k in reality.

Distribution of Resources, and fuel should be automatic, and it should work, if you have enough surplus in the area.

sending all ships to tokio is easy way, but try to consider to sending it to another ports in japan more close to your source od resources/oil - these resources move wia land much faster than by ships. But you must consider 2 things :
1. port must be conected by RR for efective spread of resources
2. port size - since it affect how fast ships are unloaded and ready to move again. (as long as you dont put port to red numbers it is ok - but rembver multiple tf i unlading in port stacks).

Hi Pompack. Yeah, I'm around, but pretty busy right now with limited internet access. That'll change in about a month. I'll still be busy but will have much more constant access, and evenings to banter here.
