Thanks, oldspec4. It took quite a while to put together but I enjoyed doing it. This is really a good game and I wanted to highlight some of the drama that often gets overlooked through gameplay.

Heinrich,

I really enjoyed reading this AAR and looking at the screen shots. You made this battle come alive. Thanks!

Yep..a good game that I have been playing since release.

I have played exclusively as the Germans. But after reading this AAR I may have to give it a try from the other side.

I've never seen an AAR done by you that wasn't outstanding and this one is no different.

Good Hunting.

What a great read! You made me feel like I was there. Best AAR I've read in a very long time.

Guys,
Thank-you very much for the kind comments. I appreciate them greatly.

I actually did these sorts of AARs back in the "olden days" of Squad Leader and Advanced Squad Leader, but they were all pen & paper and just for my own enjoyment. I did submit one to Avalon Hill for possible publication in their monthly once but was politely turned down. I daresay I have improved somewhat since those days.

With word processing and screen shots on 3D environments the game can be given even greater depth. One of the things I miss from CMBB/CMAK is the names that were given to the senior officers/leaders/tank commanders of the various units. If there is some way to do that with PCO that would make my AAR job much easier. Right now I have to keep track of the units by writing the names next to the units on notepaper, but then again, I have complete freedom to name them as I see fit.

Glad you like these small vignettes. We'll have to see what other characters emerge from this really cool game.

Yes, there is a way to name the units leaders.

All my scenarios come complete with Leaders named. Obviously, not everybody's scenarios do.

Good Hunting.

I probably have the russian leader names in a pdf but I don't read russian.

Here is the actual Soviet plan of attack from the Niemirow pdf.

Mobius,
Really nice. I see my attack wasn't overly different from the real one. It is really interesting to see the actual account.

I don't think I would have wanted to rush my infantry across that open field area, if the dotted line indicates infantry. I'm guessing as I don't read Russian.

The map was really well done.

Maybe someone can remember what forum the story of the battle came from. The thread had lots of pictures and translations as I recall.

Here's their map of where the tanks were lost. Many were bogged down in swampy ground or shot while trying to make their way through it.

Hi!

Did not assume that the idea of mission in Niemirow becomes real event. It is very amusing to look.

There are some remarks by some errors in game. If it is interesting, I can state.

Welcome

Please do

Mobius put a lot of work into this scenario, even making new buildings just for this battle. Then revising the scenario with the T-28.

At once about that incorrectly visually.

White rhombuses were on BT-7, but they were not on T-34. In game - on the contrary. T-34 and T-28 had no designations.
Except two T-28 which had numbers on towers: 287 and 286.
Further. T-34 should be more light, than T-28 and BT-7. It is caused by the "know-how".

While that I see on pictures at mission passage. The game at me is not present, therefore on game process of anything I can not tell. A question - as that in mission the role 171 artillery regiments is reflected?

About the facts. 19 tank regiment is incorrectly specified. It there was not. There were: 16 tank regiment (1 attack, T-34 and T-28), 53 tank regiment (2 attack, BT-7), 15 tank regiment (3 attack, T-34)

If it is necessary to translate something into English - address.
That there were no questions - I represent group of historians-enthusiasts which are engaged in probes of battles in the summer 1941 in Galicia, in particular, in Niemirov. Resulted above the scheme and a chart - from our book of 2008.

Hi, you may have been the poster on the GameSquad forum where I first saw the Niemirow battle. I have those 287, 286 decals made but the game engine had decal problems right when I was doing the decals for the scenario. I had to take decals off until it was fixed. I guess I forgot to put them back on.

I think this was 150mm artillery but was too powerful for the scenario balance.

In the pdf it only lists the 6 T-34s. In the above map it looks like there are 7 knocked out T-34s.
Question : How did those T-28s get all the way to the end of town to the road next to the saw mill? Did they travel through the town?

BTW, have you made history pdfs on any other battles? I would like to try to make game battles of those.
