Well....
As they say, "one step forward, two steps back..."

I've decided tonight to just rebuild the entire vehicles.txt file. There are so many unused and double entries...it's confusing.

Also junking the "Vet" vehicles....they turned on the flag for gyros and schurzen to make them "Vet".

Well, here's hoping I can just finish it one day..


Curious to what others think about adding SP guns like the Priest, Ram, and Wespe...should they be in a game advertised as "Close Combat"?

They are cool toys...but at this scale they would theoretically be far to the rear lobbing their shells..

Also how about heavy mortars like the German 12cm and Allied 4.2"?

Neat toys they would be but they really are long range weapons like you say so probably shouldn't be inlcuded....

yeah, I think you're right....they won't be included.

Here's my new revised vehicles list...those with the '*' symbol are from LSA.
Think I will just amend the original LSA vehicles.txt, weapons.txt, and all .azp graphic files.
If I've missed something....holler!

Not much accomplished this week....real life has raised it's ugly head..


But I've come to the conclusion that if I add everything that I want to, I'll still be working on this thing come Christmas, 2013....the stuff I want to add and/or tweak just keeps piling on..

As I'm sure some of you know, it takes HOURS just to add a single new vehicle or gun.

So, I'm just going to concentrate on releasing a more streamlined port.

Still plan on adding a bunch of combat and static BGs plus adding a few guns, clean up some OOBs and edit a few GUI graphics.

Then perhaps add other enhancements and inevitable bug fixes in future "patches"..

OK, not much to tell...

War in the East has grabbed all my attention and free time again with the new patches..

I still have all my files, so when I get burned out on WitE again, I'll jump back into it..over the holidays I should have loads of free time..

In days gone by GIMP's inability to handle TGA files ruled it out as a possible graphics editor. Has it been upgraded?

If we could just empty the base files and start again life would be a lot easier. The community would gradually rebuild them, and probably create a logical, ordered encyclopoedia of weapons, vehicles etc., like they have over at Steel Panthers.

... but no, the .exe needs some of the values written in the base files, so stripping them out crashes the game.
