T118 didnt have the time today to post some SS,but he pushed all my tankcorps back and relieved the enclosed units....seems my tankcorps are still very weak :(otherwise i send some more units in the crimea and did some recon attacks
also he seems to build some kinda of Fortborder there so i will need to soften them up every week ;army Nr 2 is in the making aswell there

Gids, from other AAR's it became clear that attacking from the Crimea is a logistical nightmare.
Just thought I'd point that out...

Also Soviet Tank Corps are not really worth their salt. They are the weakest of all the corps. If you need to close a pocket against resistance Cavalry Corps are a lot more effective.

problem attacking from crimea is multifold
when troops become "depleted" need to go to port for refit
HQ take supply from same place (distance become great in mud)
no possibility to change rail
last only other ports will serve as supply source

hmmm treu but i was able to break through in the last winter and it is a gamble, the positives IF it succeeds will outweight the negative,i wont make the mistake to attack there with to few troops and no reserves to exploit it,if it works he has to pull back like half his frontline and maybe i can rush in rumania and get em out of the war,i never saw that in any AAR though :p,worst case is that he weakens his frontline in central and south and i can push faster there.i will have to put 1 army in reserve in sevastopol and ind il have to switch regulary
im just still thinking where to go if i can break through, rumania or try to make a mess in his hinterland??

T119 nothing out of the ordinary happens ,he pushed some tankcorps back and strenghten the are with my strongest units ,i dont seem to be able to make somekind of strong move
in the crimea area forces are building up nice still
,1 hungarian unit got marched of to the stretches of siberia to rethink what exactly went wrong[/quote]

hi peeps:) sorry i am way behind of posting but i barely have time ,and posts plus SS take ****loads of time like we all know
anyway i will comment still if possible on every turn, from what we saw we all know i most prob lost the war .....unless tarhunnas makes some fatal mistake or i get godmode or something, both are not really about to happen in the near future...
problems i face .....SUPPLY ....bigtime ,you can have a lumbering warmachine ....its no good with an empty stomach, tarhunnas does an excelent job on the withdrawal ,atm hes splitting at leningrad (as expected, bit later then i guessed) my plan is to more or less ignore that and put a minimum force there,i still will attack there because it seems the fins are starting to break, who knows maybe ill get leningrad after all
now in the south i will try to reach Bucharest (ofc) the faster the better ....but once again my supply lines are horrible and my RR teams can only do that much i putted em all in the south now for maximum workforce,i did have some minor victoriy some week ago with
defeating some of his panzers and infantry but it really sux that his divisions come back that fast(i know no morale ,understrenghth and so on)but even then i notice they rarely rout ,something you really would expect with a planned attack of 60000 men on 3000 :pbut maybe their all heroes of 16 year old and uber fanatic, also i notice my Tankcorps and mechanized forces are worth SH*** even this late in the war,its amazing how easy thy still retreat, maybe becaus my army has been several times rebuild has something to do with it ...im not sure, god knows
alot of people would have given up on this game a long time ago, truth be told i almost did several times .....if i know look back at the mistakes i made i can slap myself
To name a few:No retreating Whatsoever, attacking like i was the german army, not trying to defend everything, not looking after industry, not looking after my airforce(because i rendered it pretty much usseles),i didnt watch supply on the germans(good for s^pots to attack )i just attacked more or less on random where i saw fit, before an attack now i actually look at my leaders ,supply ,ammo ,airbackupp and do i have arty, prob is i started way to late with it,also i didnt organize my Frontlines whatsoever on overload(although ,it was hard when you loose every 2 weeks a few 100000 men and need to rebuild ),you only have so much AP and then you need to decide ,organize frontlines /build divisions(tricky ,tricky),plus from 1943 on i had probs with AP because of my Huge losses, could almost not build divisions ,i rarely could organize frontlines, bad generals
on alot of armies(still have) ,making SU units was almost total out of the question....so tarhunnas Did a dam good offensive in 41 -42 and and 43 and wrecked my total army for the future in it,i think thats the secret for the german player to win the game
anyways ill try to update a bit more again

Hi gids, good to see you posting again, and great that you continued with the game - as this game is a good benchmark for the devs to evaluate.

I would like to know how many Artillery Divisions you have in action, and whether AP availability has affected your ability to build more/less.

Are your FBD units unable to keep-up on Rail building? You do know how to use them to build rails, right?

They should be moving your railhead 3-4 hexes per turn.

Well next game il see if i can post a SS from my availble SU ,i have, no idea how much i should have tbh and how much every army HQ should have,in another GC i play i try to have at least 300 guns in every HQ ,in this game i never reached that point
my AP i use to make at least 2 or 3 divisions because i need some divisions at north because a gap will fall there with a front going to leningrad other AP i try to save for a Buildup if needed

yes ofc :) i maybe started to late  although im not sure it would have made a difference ,if you look at the amount of territory he retreated last 6 months  and count mud turns, but  prob i handled it wrong ,i didnt put ALL  fbd
on my main offensive line (south)soon enough, hence atm i cant do much south because most of my units are at 23% of supply ,airforce helps supplying every turn otherwise i wouldnt move at all :p

ok turn 185 ,mud in the south ,just what i needed to keep a good pace.....,
guns according to CO screen=14853 prob way to less
AFV ready=5418
in the south i do minimum attacks so i have maximum supply next week i ressuplied my 2 front armoured corps almost to max of my capabilities
Central i do some minur attacks but with the supply i have not much i can do to catch up on a withdrawal fight hes always "just a hex to far"(good be a title for a movie ;));he seems to exactly know where my range is and HQ buildup atm is out of the question
