War in Russia (Matrix Edition) and SPWAW. Both for free. The first game I bought was Korsun Pocket iirc.

Wow ... Haven't been in here awhile, since my last post ... I'm here because of KG's recent comment ... Mine, of course, is Puresim in 2006 ... I do miss the old style forum here ...

Luck of the Irish to you all, mates ...

I think it was SPWAW, but I had no idea at the time it was Matrix. My first two Matrix purchases where the Lost Victories Campaign and Fortress Europe

Followed by WITP, WITP-AE, War Between the States, and a number of others.

SPWAW for me, took me 5 days to download on dial-up. My first purchase was the Desert Fox mega-campaign.

I got an older PC from a friend @ 4 years ago and the only decent game I could really get to play was a game I bought from an Amazon seller called East Front II. When that old bugger died I got a better, newer model and thru a Google search I eventually bumped into Matrix Games and it's been love ever since.
So first game was naturally John Tiller's Campaign Series (for East Front) and I reckon I've spent a little fortune on over 2 dozen MG titles ever since - not to mention another dozen and a half on other games from other sites. Yikes!

Oh yeah! I forgot about that. Played first scenario only, then there was a bug and that was the end of the game. Complained to Matrix an was told, its your system..tough luck!

Luckily, things seemed to have improved since then.

I saw this unkown game called Gary Grigsby's World at War by an obscure company named Matrix games at a big shot store named Best Buy. I've been hooked ever since.

Mine was Titan of Steel, a tactical mech game found in a Game Store.
Then I discovered Matrix and digital download. I think my second game was WITP, one of the best game I've ever played.

Bye

My first Matrix Game purchased for full price (not picked from a bargain bin) is Battles from the Bulge. I think the second one will be the future Eastern Front game from Panther Games.

I never knew Matrix had other games besides GG World at War in retail. I'm curious, what games did you find in the bargain bin?

WitP, WPO, Battles in Italy, Battles in Normandy, SP:WaW:GE, Tin Soldiers: Alexander the Great, Tin Soldiers: Julius Caesar and a few others. I bought WPO, Battles in Italy and Battles in Normandy for 6 PLN each - ironically, I never really got into them.

Same here Uncommon Valor

Mine was Uncommon Valor. I actually bought it at CompUSA. I had seen rave reviews for it and since Joel Billings of SSI fame was involved I decided to get it. I tried looking for War in the Pacific at CompUSA when it came out but they didn't have it. IIRC that's what led me to the Matrix Games website.
