And on the north end of the pocket we have another Army. The units on the east side of the pocket are just singleton divisions from
various Fronts.

Did I happen to mention that I managed to move an Axis unit and relieve the pocket for supply purposes? This is probably the last time
they are going to see any supply.

His line and his logistics chain are far, far, far too long

He has a huge stretch of his line North of Stalino held by Minor Allies.

If they don't move, then Cavalry Corps and Armor Bdes will be able to really threaten his communications with the units that are in the Kuban and over the Don (I'm assuming that they will withdraw, but you never know)

Thanks, Encircled dude, for that observation.  Maybe this winter offensive ought to start with my units near those Axis allies and push to the sea. Or better yet, maybe a two-pronged approach, one prong going north from the Crimea. Or maybe just pushing those lines further together will convince him he needs to pull out.

EDIT: Thought I'd insert a picture of the area in question from T66. I just opened the turn from the server and saw this.

I pieced together some old screenshots from T65 and T66 and made this animation showing how KLilly is pushing to the NW and
the pocket is slowly being digested from the north down.

That spot where I relieved the pocket last turn is now sealed off again. And there's another smaller pocket forming ( blue circle ) that I
need to back out of pretty quickly or I'll lose another three or four units there.

I spent 30 AP's on 6 rifle brigades in V-town ( blue circle ) and I'm thinking of buying some more in Kursk. KLilly is going to continue
his attacking up until at least the start of the mud turns I'm guessing, so I'm thinking I'll be needing some more manpower on the front
lines real soon now.

I just discovered a disaster. The rail isn't working from Sevastopol. All my guys in the Crimea are starving for supplies. Look at them.....
they're all cherry red from lack of supplies and fuel etc. I'm thinking I have to pull these guys back to the entrances to the Crimea and
set up shop there. Most of these guys can be used somewhere else that way. What do you guys think I should do with this situation?

The previous post was a result of the 1.05.28 supply bug.  I've now upgraded to the 1.05.30 and they are in supply now.

In one of the major surprizes for me so far in this game, THIS is one of them. KLilly, it appears, has pulled his units back to re-form in a
different place, probably closer to his supply lines. I guess I'll just have to advance to fill the vacuum left there. That mega-pocket he
formed in the last three turns is almost gone now. Just a couple of remnants have managed to hold on this long for one reason or
another.

So um..........hey you guys. I've created one of those Combined Arms HQ units and now I don't quite know what to do with it. Is it just
for air bases alone or can I assign ground units to it as well? The tag with the leader says restrictions: "Air Only" so I'm guessing it's
just for air bases. Right?

Turn 70:

Um........I just got the T70 moves from KLilly off the server and was taking a look around ( I'll post the front lines shortly, don't worry ) and
I found this little statistic. None of the captured equipment is being used except for a 37MM AT gun in one of my units. All that stuff is
still in the pool. Just thought you'd like to know that.

EDIT: I just looked at the picture again........maybe it's two 37mm AT guns in one of my units.

Perhaps a stupid question, but why are you attacking in Finland? What is your strategic goal?

You need about 6 divisions up north digging in deep and the fortified zones outside Leningrad, and that's it for the rest of the war. You have killed a few Finnish divisions, so Finland has no offensive power left.

Those corps would do much more good either defending in the south or attacking near Riga or in the center.

Um.......so I thought maybe I could drive the Finns out of the war entirely. Maybe I won't make it anytime soon but I'm thinking that my
attacking the Finns is helping the war effort by siphening off some replacements and equipment etc. and that maybe sometime in the
future I might be able to get so far into Finland that they would just drop out of the war effort. It happened in one of my AI test games
and I was able to rail an entire front worth of troops down to the NorthWest Front to continue the effort. Of course, this all happened in
late '42 and early '43 but it DID happen. So I thought maybe I'd just do it again.
