Once an air unit is sent to the Nat Reserve it 'disappears' from any list for the rest of your turn; this represents the time being used up to make the move.  The unit will show up in the Reserve on your next turn.

This is mentioned in the manual; i'm sure you read it but just forgot about it.

On a bad day I can't even remember my street address. But thanks.

I dont think nuking Ploesti or Bucharest has any significant effect based on my observations.

Committing 50k of your railcap for the HI was probably excessive.  If you moved 3 of 5 HI, the remaining 20k in railcap would have allowed you to pad the breakthrough area more.  This has the potential to get bad fast.

Please share your experiences about this with us. I'm all ears. And not only because I've been bombing Bucharest lately. I'm really interested in what you've seen.

EDIT: Here's the T14 front lines before I've moved anything. Kevin has formed one pocket and is busy making another.

Those inside the pocket near Kursk: I moved them into stacks of 3 units hoping to build up enough defensive CV to get a "held" combat result instead of "Surrender".

I did some major pull back in the Northwest Front. I'm slowly backing up, trying to get on the north side of the Luga River.

Rather than post one section at a time I thought I'd try to post the changes on the entire front line all at once:

You are in great shape in this game. I don't understand why your opponent isn't moving the Finns, that makes no sense. If you want to keep them from Attrition losses, you can take over some ground and still do that. At a minimum, you have to clear out the Soviet Manpower.

It looks like in your turns that you have defense in depth in places where you don't really need it (In front of Moscow, for example, where he has Regiments deployed in a defensive posture), and you are thin at the tip of the Panzer Spearheads, where you MOST need depth.

I think you are better off just swamping the spearhead with units, forcing him to move the Panzers elsewhere to make progress

But you are doing fine overall

There were 133 Axis battles:  13 "surrender", 29 "retreated", 7 "held", 4 "supplies", 1 "scouted", 64 "observed", 1 "interdict", 1 "shattered", and 13 "routed" results.  And no air base strikes.  Am I the only one doing air base strikes?

Um........I think not using the Finns is tying one hand behind your back but I'm not the Axis and I'm not sure what KLilly is doing with the Finns. Maybe he's doing a turtle with the Finns just to make this game distinctive?

I'm thin at the tip of the spearheads because he's been on the move and I haven't yet had a good chance to rail more guys in to the area in question. It's turn 15 now and I'm starting to get some of the bigger allotments of reinforcements so I'm planning on building a good checkerboard or carpet or something........just to glom around his tanks and motorized units.

I think so too.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I'm on pins and needles trying to stop-gap his breakthroughs and moving my guys out of incipient pockets. It's been a great game so far.

I just noticed that you seem to have a lot of different colored, and more, fronts than I did at this point in the game...what are the light pink and light blue fronts near Kursk and Kharkov?

Light Pink = Urals M.D.

Light Blue = Volga M.D.

EDIT: I thought to myself, what's to keep me from using these guys as Front HQ's? I couldn't think of a thing besides the physical
distance from the actual Front HQ itself to the units that belong to it. It's surely a disadvantage but I thought I'd try it anyway to see
what happens.

I did a daylight raid of the fuel production at Bucharest and did 5 % damage ( it's 10% damaged now ) for the loss of 4 of my bombers.
