Today I made a scenario about the 1st German Infantry division at Schirwindt, East Prussia, October 1944. I did use the Goltzow map, which I happen to like most of all. The town is attacked by dozens of T-34/85s with lots of supporting SMG platoons of the Soviet 28th Army. My Landser of the veteran 1st East Prussian Infantry division are defending the town and their beloved fatherland of Prussia. They are supported by Hetzer and some 75 mm PAK and 88 mm guns. What I'm trying to say is this, this game is enjoyable, also in it's present state. We tend to forget that sometimes, while discussing what can and should be improved.

I apologize to and thank Mobius who made this superb map. I hope to see hundreds and hundreds like this in the future.

My first observation in this battle: my Panzerschreck team fires all it's costly HEAT projectiles at an already surpressed Soviet SMG squad, while at the same time a complete German regular squad in the same building is holding it's fire. That can't be right.

Dear Jacko,
would you please E-MAIL me a copy of your German 1st Inf.Div. fighting in Ostpreussen
because my father fought there in the fall of '44 and was captured there by the Soviets.
He originally fought in the 388. Inf Div. in German operation ZITADELLE and in Sov. operation BAGRATION so it's of particular interest to me. He passed away at 90 last september,(the Lord rest his soul).

Thanks, if you would...at a.riewe@att.net

You've got mail, Raubkater. Sorry for my late reply. I'm a wee bit too busy at the moment. Remember it ain't finished yet. And may your father rest in peace.
