Hi,

I am playing my first GC as Germany and have gone into the blizzard with a fair defense line of forts at 2 & 3 level following advice on the forums.

I have been able to pull back three panzer armies to keep them out of the grinder and to refit for my 'glorious' offensive in 42.

What I would be keen to know is the relative merits of being in towns as compared to cities of the differring types if any and also if railing back to locations West of the initial start line has any benefit?

In addition are there any quirks in the refit system I should be careful of. I am asuming that selecting refit for my panzer armies will mean that no replacements actually make it to the front line units unless they are SS because of elite priority.

I am using the latest update of the game.

Being Cities Towns and Forts in the Blizzard effects area will help you take less attrition losses from Blizzard. The Higher the Fort level or town size, the better.

Being outside of the blizzard zone completely will prevent you from taking any losses whatsoever from the Blizzard, but I can't recall exactly where the line is off the top of my head.

G'day mate,

Some operational suggestions (ie not rules):
Move a Pzr Army outside the blizzard one (check the map), possibly even one to north eastern Germany and one to Rumania
Move or hold (reserves) as spare Inf corps likewise
Rail them in as soon as the blizzard ends
Conduct 'glorious offensive'
Enjoy a commie-free Russia
