What I'm suggesting here is a possible enhancement for displaying the General Reserve replacement pilot pool, this enhancement being particularly handy when selecting individual pilot(s) in the General Reserve pool for transfer from General Reserve into (the Group Reserve of) a specific air unit.
The screen print below not being the best example to describe this... When using the "Request Veteran" button on the Air Unit Information Screen for a squadron to get pilot(s) from the General Reserve pool for transfer into that air unit, then navigating to show the (General) Reserve pool pilot listing for pilot selection, the listing of available pilots shown in the (General) Reserve screen currently includes all pilots in General Reserve for the air unit's nationality and branch of service - in the example below all available USAAF pilots in General Reserve are shown in the display of replacement pilots display as the (General) Reserve pool is selected and the air unit is USAAF.
Would it be possible or feasible to include a selection when displaying the (General) Reserve pilot pool for a specific nationality and branch of service to display the available pilots in one of the "Groups" within the Reserve pool (i.e. "Fighter reserve", "Bomber reserve", "Patrol reserve", "Transport reserve", etc) for the appropriate nationality and branch of service or allowing display of all pilots in the Reserve pool for the nationality and branch of service as it exists now?
Where this would become handy is when drawing pilots from (General) Reserve for transfer into a specific air unit, I would most likely be interested in seeing "Fighter reserve" pilots in the display when selecting available Reserve pilot(s) from the pool for transfer into a fighter squadron, "Bomber reserve" pilots into a bomber squadron, and so on. Selection of "Fighter reserve' or "Bomber reserve" in the Reserve pilot pool screen should be entirely manual - no need for the AE game program to automatically determine the appropriate selection of pilots to display for the Reserve pool.
The purpose of this feature would not be to impose additional restrictions (beyond those already existing) as to which pilots from the Reserve pool can be transferred into a particular air unit - currently the game allows any available pilot in the Reserve pool for the appropriate nationality and branch of service to be transferred into any given air unit, this should not and does not need to be changed. If a player or the AI wants to use fighter pilots in a bomber squadron (for whatever reason), the game currently allows them to do this and that option should be preserved. What addition of the feature would allow is for a player to either look at pilots in the Reserve pool for one of the "Groups" within the Reserve pool ("Fighter reserve", "Bomber reserve", etc) or be able to look at all pilots in the Reserve pool as done now.
Any consideration or feedback on this idea is appreciated. Thanks.
