I'm beginning turn 1 of D21 and as I'm moving my units I came to my Bautruppen (RR engneers). They have zero movement points. I can move them by rail but then what? Is this a temporary condition or is it a bug in the scenario? I'm playing TOAW ver. 3.4.0.202 and the version of D21 that comes with it.

From the Background doc:

43. Bautrupp:

These units are for railroad repair and were designed specifically for easier playability. They can move only by rail, and will repair damaged rail lines nearest their location. Repairs take place automatically between turns, and require no action by the player. A bautrupp unit need not be directly adjacent to broken rail lines in order to make repairs, just nearby or in the vicinity. It should be sufficient to keep these units several hexes behind the front and out of harms way. The game engine repairs rail hexes each turn automatically, and it will tend to focus on broken rail lines near any bautrupp units. Therefore, the player can easily channel rail repairs to specific important areas. They will all reconstruct.

Thanks for the info. I guess my preparation for the scenario is incomplete. I'll read the doc's more carefully before I resume tonight.

Thanks again

Try one of Rob Kunz's RTM scenarios first Steve.

Hi Klaus, are you back in Cyprus? I hope you had a good visit to the U.S.

I have tried the first 2 RTM scenarios and enjoyed them both. However, I think I might as well dive into the monster scenario. I'm also going to start the Campaign for North Africa 40-43 after I get a few turns of D21 finished. It'll keep me busy for a few years :) While on the subject, I was trying to find the post for operational maps of the Eastern Front as the Germans saw it at the time. I neglected to subscribe to it. It's easy to find historical maps, but they show everything on both sides. I have one that shows what the Germans knew in the early phases, but not later on. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
