all industries can be critical :D
it all depends on the plan you are using to crash the enemy.

Okay, maybe I should re-phrase the question?

What are your bombing strategies?

Do you plan the destruction of any particular sector, or simply hit that which you can?

In my curent game I am endeavouring to build up the morale/experience of the striking force, at the same time launching attacks that target engine factories to keep the LW down. I am sure that veteran players will have better plans than mine.

There truly are a plethora of workable strategies.

Focus is the key. The first multiplayer i played as the Germans my opponent took out the 2 point rubber factories in France and the low countries with the medium bombers while the heavies took out the 20, 40 and 60 pointer. As a German player i can tell you that this worked, my replacements fell to almost nothing.

The German steel/armaments industry is large and diversified but largely unprotected by AA, and a great deal of this industry is in the Rhine valley.

I will be hated by German players forever for revealing this but bomb German aircraft engine factories until the Valkyries come home, this will crush the Germans. Engines are the weak point in the aircraft industry.

Ron will always argue that there is at least one weaker point. I agree...

depends
BoB 40- A/F and Radar...and if that does not work as much of the big industries as possible
BoB 41- here you have time to cocentrate on a single industry, but I will still try to hit his A/Fs and Radar.....but most often you will end with terror bombing to cut your losses

BtR 43: the only strong strategic force is BC, the Americans are not strong enough to hit anything too deep in Germany.
The American strategic forces go for easy targets until I have enough good escorts.....they will hit any industry they can and turn it red.
The tactical forces will try to make the life of the Luftwaffe as hard as possible and provide additional cover for strategic raids
I go for terror with BC with some additional pinpoint raids (but most often I aim for targets inside cities to maximise the Terror score.
Usually I get 30+ terror and 20 to 30 industry score this way until the end of 43
Later I go for the easier industries with the Americans (Rubber, BBFAC), but I will always try to hit as many RR targets as possible.

Main target for me is RR and Terror......everything else most often goes with the RR because it is close to it.

BtR 44: as soon as you are released from the political bombing campaign your fighters will rule the air for some time...use this time...later the Germans
have some evil good planes that can go for your escorts very easily.
the life of the BC has become more complicated with all the new and excellent German NFs, but you have some special toys to make the life of the
NFs very complicated - use them!

In the 44 campaign the life of the Allied forces is a bit easier, because the Germans will miss the 200 turns of human forced streamlightend RnD.
Therefore I tend to go after EFAC and AFAC in this campaign.
