I just wanted to congratulate Code Force for putting out such a great game. Sure, it had some issues at the start, but that was more a case of refining how to play the game, rather than anything about the core of the game. This game reminds me of Alpha Centauri. Not as the sort of game it is or how it played, but how it felt. Distant Worlds: Legends feels like you are a player within a huge galaxy full of pressing political issues that span the stars. And, at the very same time you feel like one of the little guys, trying to ply a trade in space while dealing with all the day-to-day stuff. The level of flexibility to so many parts of the game is unique and one of its strongest points. The other is the level of automation that's possible, due to the AI code. It's just a great game, one of a kind. Truly.

Matrix, good on you for hooking up with these guys from Down Under. You picked a gem of a game.

And the reason for this post? I haven't had this much fun with a game in a long time. And it's not even 3D!

You make a great point about Distant Worlds, it takes some work on the players part to learn how best to manage their empire in a way that suits them. Every player is different, and comes with varying levels of playing these types of game from absolute new player who is blown away by a game like DW, to a player like me who had the same feeling with the original Master of Orion.

A majority of the complaints flooding the forums can simply be solved by the player themselves and how they can tailor the AI or take automation off, sure DW is not perfect. However, a game this alive and complex is a great achievement and Codeforce stumbled onto something fantastic.

FYI-Correct me if I am wrong, Codeforce did not set out to make a 4x strategy game, they set out to make a game where you explore a galaxy in your ship kind of like Star Control II.

Yeah, I hope you guys are able to continue making expansions (or sequels!) to DW for the foreseeable future. No one else makes games like this. Please, don't ever compromise the direction you guys have gone. In an era of "streamlined" and "accessible" games, the combination of great detail plus insane automation is what makes this game great and unique.

Played a ton of 4x games over the course ive almost 18yrs or so this is my newest favourite, the depth and immersion is second to none.

I've took most of the training wheels off now I've played a 10hr+ open ended 1000stars[i think] map as Ackdorian Its got really interesting now there were a couple of hours where I thought this is a steam roll (came across silvermist once almost took out my capital flagship) currently sitting with about 47(had 50+ colonies but I didnt manage troops so I lost some on a mutual pact war) (on my settings) Playing democratic mostly peaceful and doing trade but trying to be xenophobic. (ps got 2 world annihilators now)

p.s. if any mods are reading I really wish u guys would sticky a questions thread so we [the users] dont keep making the same thread over and over.

Its my mission in life to introduce people to this game.  (just remember to run as administrator lol)
