Escort abandons search for sub The first Imperial carrier sighting in a long time! Alas, there is no trace remaining of the sighting to advise us whether she was northbound or southbound. Hopefully she is bound for Japan. Wasp is the only active USN carrier, now about 2 or 3 days out of Pearl Harbor. The other 5 are all in SF area ship yards getting refits and it will be all of a month before they are back in Hawaiian waters. The highlighted hex is where the attack on Shokaku took place.
