Wow, the fortifications at Hong Kong are already down to level 2. And also - supply modifier... Seems like it will be a short siege. And that's one big repair shipyard...

Do you have any ETA of the next major landing?

A very minor landing at Swatow in the next few days (on the coast east of Hong Kong). The Hokkaido landings are on schedule for middle of February, as much sooner as I can swing it (which might be 'not sooner').

After Hong Kong falls you'll have to be getting close to 2:1 right?

I think there will still be some distance to go. It's at something like 1,250 for one side and 250 for the other side, but I forget which is which. And of course in a ratio that is critical information! I'll take a look next time (which ought to be tomorrow), but even if I get a couple of thousand in troop points there will still be some ground to cover. When Hokkaido is captured and mopped up, should be awfully close if not over.

I must admit, I really hope Andav will choose to fight to the bitter end or something

As in: I'm only going to admit defeat if you conquer Tokyo

To the extent that Andav is willing, I fully intend to win by invasion!

We'll wait for the HQ to move up, which will also give us additional preparation. The Empire is abandoning Nanchang, so our units which just began moving there in coordinated fashion are now speeding up their movement (fastest for each unit). If the Imperials leave the base empty before units arrive by ground movement we have paratroopers ready to drop. All units but one division, with 16% disruption, are fully ready to attack at Hong Kong, so all units attack tomorrow.

On Luzon, all combat units have made it to Atimonan and will attack tomorrow. They are facing >21,000 Imperial troops, so this might be a resistance point for the Empire.

Mopping up at Taihoku.

Congrats on taking HK so quickly! A nice support base for the eastward tide ...

BTW, there was no destroyed shipyard point - the mouseover of enemy bases always adds 1 point to each industry observed - don't know why. HK shipyard is 50 size, and if he expanded it one time it would go to 100 size, so 51 is just the mouseover FOW.

Our para unit at Pucheng, holding their position until armour arrives, were hit by many Imperial death gliders today. Recon of Shanghai is not yielding fruit at the moment, but the radar tracks from nearby bases bade it look as though the raids came from there. P-47D25 have moved into Taihoku and will sweep Shanghai. All B-25 groups in range (Takao and Naha) will strike the air complex at Shanghai. More rotating of attacking units at Hong Kong and still a strong attack tomorrow. The enemy hold outs should collapse increasingly quickly. The capture of Nanchang last turn gave us 79 Resources.

Reinforcements for the drive up Luzon are being unloaded at Legaspi.

The fleet carriers have been undergoing their Jan '45 air wing reorganizations and should be finished in a few more days.

China.

And the Allies keep rolling along.

Okinawa fully owned.

Formosa damn near fully owned.

Hong Kong under siege.

Good job!

Must be damn difficult keeping track of everything and keeping everything together.

Best Regards,

-Terry

We have an armoured unit rushing to Pucheng but it will not arrive until the day after tomorrow. The B-29 groups will hit the enemy troop positions at Pucheng tomorrow while P-51D groups sweep overhead, and lots of smaller strike aircraft too. Results from the attack at Hong Kong were a bit light, but tomorrow only two divisions will rest.

The ordered P-47 sweeps of Shanghai could not take off due to severe weather at Taihoku, so the Superfortresses went in alone.

They gave about as good as they got, including some aircraft on the ground, but the airfield was barely hit and we lost 11 air beasts on the day (possibly including ops losses elsewhere).

About 3 more days before the next attack at Davao. Longer before the next attack on Luzon as the reinforcements march to the front.

China.

None of our many ordered strikes arrived at Pucheng, but enemy strikes did, then superior enemy ground forces pushed out our paratroopers with losses. They are now in hex with the armour unit that was racing to bolster their defensive position and will recover there, sheltering among nearly 60 tanks. AA cover is also on the way but they are now in woods-rough terrain, plenty cover by itself. A similar task group is heading for a position NE of Pucheng to cut the primary road from that side.

More troop rotation at Hong Kong, where supplies for the base are still an issue but at least the combat units are fully supplied. Imperials holed up at Hong Kong now ~52,000 and their raw AV was cut by more than 1/3 today. Those are zombies near Kunming. The problem we are facing with the attack into Swatow is the garrison requirement, which is preventing all of our (very modest) forces from moving on in unison. As with other garrison requirements various Chinese Army units are being brought forward now that the mountain redoubt is open. We are also bringing in various small, non-front line but security capable units from the Indochina coast where they are no longer needed to protect air bases.

Capturing either Chengtu or Chungking will make many more Chinese Army units available but they sport ~41k and ~59k defenders respectively. Another ~29k are heading back down the road from Tsuyung and while we will try to block them that is uncertain.

A port attack on Manila bore fruit.

Now we only see a submarine TF there. On Mindanao the USA 158th IR will arrive at Malaybalay the day after tomorrow to block retreat from Davao, so that will be the day of the next attack there. The NZ 15th Bde at Davao has been reinforced by the USA 31st IR and together they should be able to force the issue.

China.
