Maybe this will give the mods a hint.

Do you think mdiehl

* Adds to the discussion
* Spews trash
* Doesn't spew trash but doesn't add to the discussion
* Lies through his teeth

Mynok,

Aren't you frequently in the vanguard telling us to ignore the trolls on the board? Green button the guy and be done with it man... Trutst me, it makes it so much easier to ignore this nonsense...

Oh I have. It still pisses me off that they can still even post here.

There are principles involved here and I will not compromise. They should NOT be allowed to post here.

*sigh* Chickenboy is right of course, my post here was hardly the epitome of maturity. le sigh, I wish I hadn't lost my temper and just closed the thread and moved on now but meh.

@mjk428 - it feels kind of pointless to bring up my post from that other thread, it hardly accomplished anything. In fact it seems to have incited more name calling and was thus that much wasted text. Just another offtopic post to ruin the thread. I should have just kept my mouth shut.

I'm thinking it's time I just went back to lurking.

Well then report him (repeatedly if necessary) to the mods and THEN green button him. Getting yourself in trouble for nil benefit won't help anyone, least of all you...

Probably best to just green button and inform everyone of the presence of the troll in each thread he posts(with any meaningful conversation otherwise, that).

For what? For being an idiot? Unfortunately, that isn't against Matrixes rules, what few there be.

You know what....it is sabbatical time for me. We'll see how long it is. But don't expect me back before Easter.

The lack of maturity displayed by making this thread is staggering.

Almost, but not quite, as childish as chiming in to the thread in this manner. You're not covering yourself with glory either, mate.

I can live with his comment if he understands the issue and this is his response.

Good advice (my bold) from another thread:

quote:

ORIGINAL: Sredni

I would like to remind everyone that we are all adults and should be able to treat eachother rationally and courteously. The forums of late have become increasingly ugly and discourteous.

If you feel someone is a troll then have the maturity to ignore them and move on. Stop trying to force your views on the other forumites. As rational human beings we can come to our own views on these things.

If someone truly is a troll then giving them the attention they seek is more disruptive to the forums and to specific threads then their trolling is to start with. The insults and name calling feed them while driving away other posters who find the drama and backbiting to be more offputting then any single troll could be alone.

Ours is not to judge and yes he will always add to any discussion. Exactly what is a more relevent question. But remember this; you can almost always find something useful or entertaining in the thoughts of another. If you can't, then you need to think more objectively or relax a little.

What harm does anyone do (assuming they abide by the rules) by triggering responses from those who choose to read his posts? If what they post bothers you then you should probably start asking yourself why? For some of us, enjoyment can be found in debating stuff in a harmless game forum at the expense of doing something more productive. Time is a commodity that we should all be allowed to spend according to our needs and desires.

And eventually many will stop finding the desire to respond at least temporarily. Just a couple nights ago I fought off the urge to buy a PV-1 flight manual off Ebay by playing another turn on my own game. Sadly, I still know way too much about a PV-1 and her Pratt & Whitney R2800 engines.

You know SLAKker , there are a lot of us here. While Mynok is losing it, it doesn't mean he's wrong. You are a troll, and someone who delights in stirring trouble , on this forum and others. And there will be plenty of us left, so don't go crowing victory just yet.

Actually since SLAAKbag has been on my green button list for ages, it appears to have a quite positive trend. Try and and see what I mean.

Truthfully, I often find you a bigger "troll" than "mdiehl". He offers his opinions and tries to back them up (though his sources are sometimes questionable). That's what a "forum" is for. Quite often, all you do is scream "troll" and badmouth him for no dicernable reason. I'd like to see you "back off". If he's really as "full of it" as you claim, it will be obvious to other readers without you saying it. Or do you assume that everyone else is a moron who must be led by the nose to your cconclusions?

Pretentious isnt he? Np doubt he does. Apparently he considers himself to be the forum Thought Polizei. He's definately in love with Big Brother.
