I am afraid I am not too impressed so far. While running the tutorials after about 5 minutes, my computer's fan kicks on and the sound goes off and the sound does not return.

My computer's fan hardly ever comes on so this must run hot.

Anyway to compensate?

I've got no idea what it might be.
Usually my laptop fan runs too when playing Time of Fury, but it never caused me the problems with the sound.
BTW, do you mean there is an issue with sound or also with the music?

Actually both sound and music kick out. I do not have a laptop but a console PC. Some years old using XP, but all my games and all my matrix games run just fine.

As i said my fan hardly ever comes on. I run WitP:AE and War In the East just fine. Fan never comes on.

The only other game i had this problem with is (surprise) Time of Wrath. That is one of the reasons i lost interest in your previous game.

What is the spec of your PC? I guess its possible there is so much going on the procesor is overheating but it is not an issues we've heard before in the beta.

I noticed when I installed the game, that there was a "decompression error" for the Song of the Volga Boatsman music file. I also see that the mp3 file is not in the music folder. Will this cause any potential sound problems?

I think that the fan issue is related to the GFX card.
You might try to change FPS limit in preferences. Sometimes decreasing or increasing the value helps.

All the files are located in the right place.

As Iain said, we have never ever got such thing reported.

Well I changed the FPS as suggested and while the fan and sound problems I described earlier took longer to show up, they did show up. Once the music crapped out the only way to get it back is to quit the game and start over.

Still have not gotten through the tutorials yet, may not be able to enjoy this game. Oh well

OBTW, I was so wrapped up in the sound problems, that i failed to mention the units are invisible! i have tried and clicked on all of the variations listed in the unit section of preferences but no matter what i click i can not get anything to appear in the game.

Maybe i am just being very thick here but this game is not making a very good impression.

If you are not seeing any units, please press SPACE.

Thank you Doomtrader I knew it was something obvious but surprised that the units off is the default.

Hopefully I can get this game to work well enough now to do something with it.

All of your tech support has been much appreciated.
