Edit:
v1.1: Air transports now have double movement.
Adjusted the location of a number of German flak and garrison units.
Changed AI behaviour from passive to active for a bunch of flak units.
Replaced the jpg with the scenario.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am looking for playtesters for this large, single v1.05 scenario.

The scenario is meant to be played as Allies on General level.
I have not had any experience playing MP yet, so please advice me if I need to do anything special to make it work as a multi-player scenario.
This version cannot be played as German due to the AI being unable to handle paratroop landings.
later I will create a German-version if the AI problem is not fixed in the mean time.
The scenario uses custom efx.pzdat and equipment.pzeqp files, but all custom data is added to the default data.
So you should be able to just replace the default files, but please make a backup first!
Due to the 1km map i have doubled artillery ranges and air unit movements.

There are 329 Axis and 174 Allied battalion sized units on a ca 60x120 1km/hex map with 30 half-day turns.
Both sides get 50 prestige points pr turn and there are 5 free units slots for each side.
The Allies start with zero prestige and the Germans have 100 prestige points.
You will probably only afford a couple of units since repair will claim most of your prestige.

The Allies need to grab all 8 primary and 31 seconday objectives with 6 turns left of the scenario for a decisive victory.
Capturing all objectives by the scenario's end will give you a minor Allied victory.

The Allies' occupation of the German airfield Deelen on the top part of the map will trigger the release of the British 52nd Lowland air-transportable division on the bottom of the map.
The infantry of this division may then be air-transported to the two constructed airfields further north (or Deelen). The infantry battalions will leave their transports behind.
Allied occupation of the town Deurne on hte right center of the map trigger the release of the 8th armored brigade on the bottom of the map.
This is turn triggers release of more German reinforcements.

This playtest is mainly to establish if the play-balance is about right.
Experienced players will probably gain a decisive win on the default Colonel level.
I am currently having a hard time winning at General level (and I am quite familiar with the scenario after testing it about 30 times...).

If you are interested, please send an email to erik.nygaard@nrk.no

Have fun
Erik

The British first AB division is ready to land west of Arnhem in the top of the map and the US 82nd AB southeast of Nijmegen bridge.

Hi Eric,
Thank you to open your nice Market Garden 44 scenario for me. I played the first 10 turns yet ! Its the 1st Panzer Corps scenario thats really playable !!!

Some critics:
1. All units have no divisional names - only the regiment names. Do you used HPS Market Garden or my old JTCS scenario?
2. Why do you not use Massis new terrain pads - looks much better !
3. I think also the map needs more details and fine tuning. Some citys have no names and the terrain need more variations - looks much better with Massis work - please use his sets !

Some answers...

1) Too long units name does not display well in the game, so I had to leave the divisions out.
2) Yes, I know there will be some 'sameness' in maps with large areas containing the same terrain. It would be nice with more variety, but I am reluctant force players installing more custom files. If it was added to the current ones and not replacingthem, fine.
3) What details? I know there are a few (non-objective) cities that lack names, maybe I will research them later.

This scenario is a simplied & modified version of my original company sized Market Garden/A Bridge Too Far-scenario for The Operational Art Of War.
My sources were:

Games:
Market Garden (Panzer Campaigns HPS Simulations 2003)
Highway To The Reich (Panther Games 2004)

Books:
A Bridge Too Far (Ryan 1974)
World War II Airborne Warfare Tactics (Rottman 2006)
German Airborne Troops (Quarrie 1983)
It Never Snows In September (Kershaw 1990)
Arnhem 1944 Operation Market Garden (Badsey 1993)
The Devil's Birthday (Powell 1984)
Arnhem - The Battle Remembered (Jackson 1994)
Arnhem - A Tragedy Of Errors (Harclerode 1994)
Arnhem (Harvey 2001)
Arnhem: Defeat and Glory (DeLillio 2002)
Battlefront: Operation Market Garden (Public Record Office)
Royal Air Force 1939-45 Vol.III (D.Richards/G.Saunders 1974)
The Messerschmitt Me262 Combat Diary (J.Foreman/S.E.Harvey 1990)
Panzertruppen vol II (T.L.Jentz 1996)
German army handbook (J.Lucas 1998)
The Armed Forces of WWII (A.Mollo 1981)

Also I used various OOB and TO&E internet sites along with some MG specific ones, many of them do not exist anymore.

Do you like to play this scenario as MP with Massis pads and my new units (I set all old PC units with my new 3D units from Africa Corps with historical camo + over 40 new ones !)

The scenario is balanced against German AI so the Allies will have an even harder time against a human Axis.
But we could try it out.
How do we set it up? I have never played a MP game (in PzC anyway).

I will set all the things new (my units + Massis terrain + fine tuning !) - and send you back the scenario on 22th Dezember as modding file - than you can set some balances and we can play our MP than. Next we can test my full Normandy and Battle of Bulge scenarios - I have finished both with new units and Massis terrain.

Put the scenario in mygames\panzercorps\scenario folder. There should be at least a *.pzscn and a *.pzloc file.

First copy the files in the zip folders to the similar folders under My Games and your Panzer Corps installation. Please make a backup of your original equipment file.
Then start PzC -> New Game -> Scenario, scroll down and click on Custom...
You should see a list of your custom scenarios.

Sure you copied the files to the correct folder?
My Games/Panzer Corps/Scenario

The location of My Games differ depending on your OS (XP, Vista, Win7)
