A little quiz to keep us interested while we are waiting for the developers.

What is the name of this formation ?

A Withdrawal* for the first correct answer.

*not guaranteed to be fully functional.

Missing man formation? Maybe Michael Cooney would like to chime in about now.

BTW Robert Crandall gave us an update in the Flashpoint Germany forum. He posts whenever we ask for an update. Simply amazing support in keeping his potential customers abreast of his upcoming game.

then we all need to start posting in the flashpoint forum and ask how good the units withdraw in that game, and why he has abandoned us here! Perhaps it's the kind of audience that would be surprised by the lack of support here.

It's pretty anoying when you have people willing to fix this, yet they can't because they don't have the code.  Just sign somebody up for a few weeks and get them fixing.  I'm not sure why it's so hard.

Has anyone actually bothered to PM Messers Cooney or Obsolete
or
are we really just having too much fun making this little thread longer?

Nawww, make the thread longer...

I sent a support ticket, that should have been forwarded to Cooney or Coakley. Instead I get a terse answer that all "game related" questions be asked in the forum. The withdrawal bug is a BUG, and the freezing bug is a BUG.

C'mon Agent S, how hard is it for Cooney et al, to talke a look at THEIR forum. So the thread goes on. It really is shameful that even Matrix can't be bothered to say yep, no more support, the developers are gone, game over. Move along nothing to see here. or LIke other games, we are working on it, and it is going to take some time. We will post once a month on progress.

So I keep posting until SOMEONE responds to our requests.

Have you sent a support ticket complaining about the withdrawal problem? Send one, see what they say. They ain't obviously going to say anything here. They must be ticked at us about something. How dare we complain. I would say we have been pretty polite through all of this, with just good natured kidding and teasing.

I might be wrong but I don't think Robert Crandall has anything to do with CC or Boku, he is just an example of a developer that responds to posts in his forum - I know its a stupid idea for a developer to do this and I'm sure we won't have to suffer such an indignity here

P.S. Missing Man Formation, though missing developers is a better answer.

Thanks for the update. I also liked Flashpoint (although the editor needed work) and read about the new game. I usually don't dig that deep into the old game forums. CCME is a "new release."

I love the fact that you guys are all here and we aren't going to let them get away without answering us someday. Of course I may be dead and gone, but I will rely on you younger fellas to keep up the good fight. It could become the never ending story.

Well, the beat goes on. I'm still playing the game, but when my units bump up against the enemy, it's pretty much a suicide pact. Not always, but usually. Needs to be fixed, along with other questions that have gone unanswered by people on the "Forgotten Forum."

I don't think I could edit my original thread name can I? We might be able to come up with a clever name. Not that it would get noticed, but would be amusing for the few, the brave, and dedicated posters here. I mean the Taliban thread never got a response.

Of course even discussing clever names could get us in trouble with Matrix, they could shut the thread down, and still never respond. Kind of like the KGB in the middle of the night. Joe, Joe? Hey guys Joe's gone, man he was just over there Tom, and he....Tom, Tom?

Ok, my post for the day, so take it away.

I may have to brush up on my DirectX coding and build a new .exe that uses the games data files. Other people have done that for the Baulders Gate game so it runs on Linux and stuff.

What a sad day with no devs in sight.....anywhere.....

I think I hear an echo.....

It's so frustrating to not get a response. There are guys here willing to have a go at fixing this, me included, but we just need access to the code. In terms of how successful an approach like this can be, you only have to look in the WitP:AE forum and the amount of bugs getting squashed there. Patches are coming thick and fast for that game.

I've also volunteered to fix Napoleon in Italy free of charge, guess what, no response, the only developers I've managed to get to a point to even accept the possibility of volunteer coding help is HPS and so I'm developing an OOB editor for their Napoleonic series. I'm not saying that giving somebody access to the code would guarantee a fix, but at least we would be in a position to try.

We're just after one.

Cheers

Mark

It is a shame. I am more surpised by the absence of erik rutins more than cooneys. I thought for sure he would have put an end to our silly games by now. In an era of grand strategy titles this was a pleasant diversion and deserves better treatment.

Still nothing in the way of a response, i see. Still on vacation, maybe, I haven't seen any new posts from Erik. I'm sure will get a response sooner or later. I've put it down for now, the withdraw bug was a bit too annoying for me.

Hey I sent a support ticket, and they tersely replied that all game related questions be posted in the game forum. Sooooo, here I be....

This is a new game. Erik montiors and posts in the other threads, why not here?

Besides, I just post so I can raise my star count. Yeah right...

If they are not going to fix things, then just TELL US. C'mon, how hard is that. I'm a big boy, I can take it. I'm following Matrix instructions per THEIR support ticket.

BTW Wodin do you have the game? It's really quite elegant and comes with a ton of scenarios. Maps with the JMass mod are good looking.

I wonder if PJ is still lurking around here somewhere. He's been playing some other stuff. This is what happens you don't keep an active presence and the game loses momentum. It ain't right I tell ya.

I'm a stubborn fellow, get beat all the time at this game, but I still like it. I ain't gonna give up. I'm posting until someone OFFICIAL shows up. You wanna PM Erik, go right ahead. I'm still ticked about the support ticket response, so I'm just going to stay here and post until you know what freezes over.

There are only a "few" bug issues/questions that we have.

I have had games and mentioned them on another thread where it was SEVEN years later and they responded INSTANTLY and fixed my problem.

Now look what you did, made me post twice in this thread today. Dag nab it.

I'm gonna go play with my new backpack, and calm down. (kidding, just kidding)

I think we've all behaved rather gentlemanly, perhaps we should begin a thread in the general discussion forums...see who bites.

@Mark, please make yourself known over at Wastelands. Their scenario editor for time of fury, is not a patch on what you achieved for Panzer Corps.

I saw a post from Erik this morning in the General area about someone saying the store is "flaky".

Maybe we could say the game is "flaky" and someone will respond.
