Hellfirejet added to the list (see post # 1).

Glad to see you post Historiker (though I will have to pull out my English/Deutsch dictionary to understand your joke!). Coincidentally, yesterday while trying to scroll through the "H" names to find P.Hausser's name, which I couldnt remember but which I did know began with that letter, I came across Historiker's name and noticed that he had posted only once (9/11/11) since 11/2010. I was surprised he had been gone so long.

It's great to have you back, Historiker!

Okay, guys, its time for Redcoats against Rebels! A second American Revolution against His Britannic Majesty's Empire!

Should we spell it Honor or Honour?

P.S. Edited to try to figure out how to spell "Britannic" - my first two efforts were incorrect. Somebody needs to present a dictionary to those British folks. They sure do spell things funny.

It all depends if your are writing in "English" or "American English". Being a Pom living in Australia, I notice that even here the Aussies are (for want of a better term) "Americanised" - we have "harbor"; we have "labor"; we have "tire" etc., etc. Being politically correct, I'll go with 'Her' Britannic Majesty's Empire on this one, after all it is the homeland of the English Language - so it's Honour

Have you heard that joke about the donkey trainer?

Interviewer: "I hear you're famous for you skill at training donkeys."

Donkey Trainer: "Ya, ya!"

Interviewer: "How do you do it?"

Donkey Trainer: "With love!" (Mit Liebe!)

Interviewer: "Would you mind demonstrating with this donkey?"

Donkey Trainer picks up a wooden club, walks over to the donkey, and knocks it senseless.

Interviewer: "I thought you said you train donkeys with love! Now you beat it!"

Donkey Trainer: "First, you need to get their attention!" (Zunächst müssen Sie gewinnen ihre Aufmerksamkeit!)

See first post for important - and rather unforeseen - development in the Divepac88 situation.

Dive, you've made everybody's day.

Later today or tomorrow, I'll remove your name from this list - waiting just long enough so that more forumites can catch up on the good news.

Tristanjohn - last post 5 Feb 2006. I do not recall the date of his death - would have to search the old WitP forum.

TJ passed away in July 2006 as noted in the following link. He had been ill for some time and had only posted irregularly in the year before his death.

Tristan John's passing

His passing was also noted on the ACW forum the same month.

He was my first PBEM partner in our very short-lived match from the original WitP.

Though we were often on different sides of the fence, we did enjoy our heated debates on the forum and often carried on the fight in emails and PMs to one another. TJ was very passionate about history.

This is how the "Honor Roll of Forum Friends who have Passed On" read as of January 9, 2012 at 9:19 a.m. eastern standard time. I am copying an pasting here only to record the rather remarkable chain of events in which we first learned on 1/1/12 that Divepac88 had passed away only to have him "pop back up" on 1/8/12. Coinciding with this post, I am editing the first post to remove Divepac's name therefrom. Long live Divepac88!

"In honor of longtime forum friends who have passed away, creating absences that cannot be filled, here are the forum names and dates of passing so that we, their UV/WitP/AE brothers and sisters, may long remember them. We can edit the list as needed (hopefully a very rare task). Or, if this just doesn't come across right, we can let this fade away.

1. Tristanjohn - sometime after 2/5/2006
2. P.Hausser - shortly after 5/01/2010
3. Hellfirejet - circa Aug. or Sept. 2010
4. DivePac88 - 11/28/2011 - resurrected () 1/8/2012
5. herwin - 12/31/2011"

When I bought Witp I didn't join the forums at first, I was kind of a young pup and thought some were a little to harsh towards those who were either new or played against the AI (frankly I was new to WITP), but after running into some probs I signed up and I believe one of the first few threads I realized its a closer gaming community then the typical other games I played in the past.

Even though I am only 29, I always felt this was one of the nicest communities you could grow into.

That or I liked looking at the tropical girls posted on some of the Avatars
