OPERATIONAL REPORT FOR Sep 25, 45

Task Force 93 lays minefield at Nakadori-jima - 101 , 57 and sets course for Daito Shoto

Repairs completed on CVE Nehenta Bay at Manila, ship returned to service

This was the ship bombed in the first Manila night port attack by the Japanese. Iirc his email said something about a big sinking. Dont discount the power of allied repair.

SIG INT REPORT FOR Sep 25, 45

Tachirai JAAF Base Force is located at Fukuoka(103,57).
116th Division is located at Hangchow(90,55).
107th Division is located at Kanko(105,47).
102nd Division is located at Fukuoka(103,57).
43rd Division is located at Nagoya(111,60).

Tachirai BF tells me that Fukuoka is a major hub for Japanese aviation. I’m building up a list of what divisions are where.

In the CR, the invasion of Haha-jima continued. This is being done solely with the inherent fighting troops in the base units.

In other notes,,, today, one of those 5 kt ARD's made it to Midway Island. She's being sent to Guam, then probably Okinawa.

The CA Chicago, damaged earlier in the month, made it to Pearl's docks.

OPERATIONAL REPORT FOR Sep 26, 45

TF 90 detected by Japanese Float Plane at 123,49 near Wakkanai

22 x C-46D Commando dropping 541st Parachute Regiment at Orchid Island
13 x C-47 Skytrain dropping 541st Parachute Regiment at Orchid Island
12 x C-47 Skytrain transporting supplies to Tanegashima
15 x C-47 Skytrain transporting supplies to Tanegashima

Tanegashima expands fortifications to size 2
Adak Island expands airfield to size 5
Butuan expands airfield to size 3
Singapore expands fortifications to size 3

Singapore has little in the way of AV... Japan could possibly rail a bunch of LCU’s down the Malaya Peninsula from China/Nam and make a push for the base. So I expanded forts, as my engineers there have nothing better to do atm.

My transports have completed relocating the 42nd AV Base unit (90 aviation support) at Tangeshima, and it’s now a functioning level 2 airbase and ready for full-time CAP.

I’m also making a snap invasion of Orchid Island, just to deny the IJ those points and give the impression of opening the shoulders of the Guam – Okinawa – Fukue-jima bulge.

TF90: I’ve detatched 2 DD’s from my task forces at my New Secret Base in the Kuriles to make a recon in force into the Sea of Japan. If I get lucky, they’ll get in and rough up a few E boats harassing my subs. This tf has now been detected by the Japanese.

Looks like those indicators pointing to IJ fleets in the north Yellow Sea have led me to a NICE intercept! I’ll detach a couple more Fast Raiders up here, they will trawl along the coastline and in the deep seas, to try and catch whatever sneakiness is going on. In the meantime, 1500 less IJ soldiers to deal with!

In other notes, the invasion for Koshiki-Jima Retto (referred to on Post #77) is inbound and only 3-4 days out. Next turn will find it within range of Japanese LBA. I’ve been resting as many fighter groups as I can to provide LRCap. I’ve made this invasion fleet a “little bigger” than the original Fukue-Jima fleet, to see if he launches massive kami’s. I intend to bomb all his close airbases in Korea and on Honshu the day before I invade. All told, the invasion fleet will be in and out of the island in one day. I’ll be unloading a division and various support LCU’s to quickly build up the base. I expect very light resistance due to repeated Allied air strikes on the island. Those 13x .50 cal B25’s are amazing, and so are the 75mm B25’s.

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR Sep 27, 45

Sub and Small Boat Wars: Today wsa a light turn, a couple of IJN MTB's go down, one of my subs gets hit a few times.

A foray by PT boats into Iki-shima runs over a weak minefield and about 6 go down. The fort fired a few shots at my PT's. This is what I wanted to know, the hex is lightly mined (recent sub miners most likely) and the fort is operational.

A PF hits a mine at Pescadores.

I sweep mines all along Kyushu.

Koshiki-Jima Retto gets bombarded by a large BB/CA force.

AirWars:

Fukuoka gets swept numerous times, 12 IJ fighters go down to 2 P51H losses.

I sweep Cam Ranh Bay - thinking that Cruft might base some bombers there for another night attack on Manila. 14 Zeros go down to no US losses.

A gaggle of 26 Nells attack a Fast Raider tf near Bangkok and actually hit a DD with a Torpedo!

4 Jakes attack 2 US SC's in Truk and whiff.

14 unescorted (grrr - I had a group detailed to escort) Helldivers out of Fukue-jima attack a capped Saishu To (small island off the SW tip of Korea) and 5 db's go down.

And in big news, my B29's hit Osaka. I hope one of these bombs hits the Emperor.....
200 B29s go first and do 59 HI hits
75 follow up and do 21 hits
20 go in and do 10
Then my 100 P47N's decide to sweep Osaka. Good for them, the B29's already cleared the skies of enemy fighters... but the 47's still get a Frank.
40 B29's follow up and do 10 more hits.

Appari, now being a level 9 base, has a load of B29's ready to roll, and today they rolled on Shanghai and it's 121 undamaged HI centers.
280 B29's go in and do 50 hits, but I lose a precious B29 to a suicide Nate. That must have been a spectacular head-on collision, becuase thats the only way a Nate will catch a B29

P47Ds decide to ground attack Okinoerabushima (hehe I bombed it just to see the name)

And of course, lets not forget the 75mm cannon, or the 13 .50cal, and the rest of my 2E's as they plaster Koshiki-jima Retto...
200 2E's and 100 4E's hit and destroy a number of squads and guns. THis is good, they must be out of supply. I'll delib attack shortly and take it easy.

Decided to show some screenies of all the ships and planes and everything that is the Allied Juggernaut in Downfall and what I have planned for the 28th...

First off, a shot of "south" Japan, extending to Okinawa.

Also of note, those two DD's I snuck into the Sea of Japan are poised to make a full speed run to the inside of the Mine of Death. They are set to retire to my new secret base in the Kuriles.

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR Sep 28, 45

Today was a day of mostly naval action...

Sub Wars: My sub fleet struck an xAK, SC and a PB with torps enough to sink all three. NO US subs were harmed today. The BB Nagato took a torp, or perhaps, my captain exaggerates lol. And lastly, an IJN Sub took 15 hits and sank.

Small Boat Wars:
Cruft sent his small MTB boats to disrupt the Koshiki-jima Retto. They were brushed aside (9 sunk) while multiple Allied BB-laden tf’s bombarded the base.

The IJN MTB’s did score a victory at Iki-shima and strafed 3 of my YMSs doing light to moderate damage.

My 2DD fast raider fleet that snuck into the Sea of Japan sunk 9 IJN SC’s before running out of ammo. Instead of retiring to my secret base, they made the Mine of Death run. Needless to say, my 2 DDs are now shark-homes. Thanks idjits. Specific orders to rtb in the Kuriles, and they don’t.

Air Wars: 65 Mustangs and 55 Hogs met a mixed bag of Shindens, Georges, Franks over the Tokyo region in a number of running battles. 11 nips went down but it cost me 3 allied planes.

Cruft kamakazi’d 16 A6M2 into a fast raider fleet of 4 DD’s and hit 3 of my ships. Nice flying there by his suicide boys.

Formosa got palstered by a/c from the Phillipines as 2504E’s destroyed Takao.

I also targeted Truk with 100 B17/B24s out of Guam.. just because I could.

My 2E’s ground-attacked Koshiki Jima Retto and between the flying 75mm cannon and ship-borne 16 inchers, this isle will be a cakewalk.

And, 270 B29s did 130 Industry Hits on Osaka. I’ve notice that when the city’s HI is mostly repaired and you target the HI, you mostly hit HI. Once you’ve knocked that HI down a fair bit, those HI hits gets spread around other industries at the City. I’m knocking down all his aircraft factories, Oil, etc.

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR Sep 29, 45

Koshiki-Jima gets invaded, my troops take many disablements due to not being prepped, but I brought plenty enough to get the job done.

Small Boat Wars: Fast Raiders kill 1 MTB, 1 ML. A lone IJN DD intercepts 4 DDs, results were inconclusive.

Sub Wars: 1 IJN SC and *5* xAKL get torped, but mostly it was multiple misses on my part and on enemy ASW fleets. Also, I had 2 PF’s patrolling around Formosa, they caught and sank a sub by Pescadores.

Air Wars: P47Ds sweep Fukuoka and meet a few Franks, Tonys, and Karyus. They lose 12 to my 3.

Kagoshima gets swept by P38Ls who meet some Georges, and I flame 4 for no losses.

Osaka gets P47N treatment from Iwo Jima, and 3 Franks go down.

23 Sonia’s kamakazi a Fast raider fleet blockading the Tsingtao-Korea run, but all Sonias miss and 15 Sonias wont go home to momma.

Koshiki-Jima gets another 1E and 2E Allied bomber plastering.

Kagoshimas airport gets nailed by 7 B24’s and I destroy 28 mixed Zero variants and 5 Georges on the ground:)

Fusans airport gets hit by 180 B17’s and I destroy 47 Willow’s and Judys on the ground.

Kumamotos airport gets hit by 50 B17s which destroy 2 Dinahs
