To my dismay I learned that no event logs are created in an AI v AI game, so I was hoping some folks out there could confirm some of my assumptions without me tediously clicking and churning out turns.

I loaded up the four grand campaigns to snapshot weekly Axis manpower builds:

1941 ___ 1942 ____ 1943 ____ 1944

24398 __ 21576 ___ 19778 ___ 14374 ___ Total Manpower

12385 __ 10339 ___ 9062 ____ 6759 ____ German
666 _____ 592 _____ 592 _____ 518 _____ Finland
810 _____ 1445 ____ 1445 ____ 0 _______ Italy
2448 ___ 2176 ____ 2176 ____ 1806 ____ Rumania
2178 ___ 1936 ____ 1936 ____ 1694 ____ Hungary
468 ____ 416 _____ 416 _____ 364 _____ Slovakia
1134 ___ 1008 ____ 1008 ____ 882 _____ Bulgaria
1072 ___ 909 _____ 782 _____ 585 _____ Czech
3237 ___ 2755 ___ 2361 _____ 1766 ____ Poland

Assuming no loss of manpower centers, do these numbers hold consistent for the respective years? Does the changeover in rate occur Jan 1st?

quote:

Each nation has a separate manpower pool, with a small percentage of the Czech and Polish manpower going to the German pool.

Is this reflected before or after the logistics phase event log is created? Or is it the manpower pools built up by Czech and Polish recruitment that get tapped each turn for the German pool?

It would seem to me that a German army suffering >15k KIA (German) per week average should be in perpetual decline. Is this a decent rule of thumb?

Checking the '42 and '43 scenarios turn 2 the Hiwi manpower build per turn is <50, so it seems relatively insignificant on that score.
I understand the 8% captured portion, and depending how things play out that can add up.
Are the Soviet captured statistics on the Losses screen before or after Hiwi's are accounted for?  I didn't notice a decrease on that captured total after 1/1/42, but had seen (or misunderstood) comments in some AARs suggesting the captured total does reflect the subtraction of Hiwis already.

If anyone has answers to the other questions, those would be appreciated as well.

Returning disabled.

How does this function?  Is it 1% of those disabled per turn, or 1% of the pool (for the Axis) cumulatively/perpetually?

e.g.:

Date ___ Axis Men Disabled _ returned to pool
6/26/1941 ___ 16,926  ___ 169
7/3/1941 ___ 30,589  ___ 306
7/10/1941 ___ 44,465  ___ 445
7/17/1941 ___ 57,927  ___ 579
7/24/1941 ___ 75,468  ___ 755
7/31/1941 ___ 94,793  ___ 948
8/7/1941 ___ 115,621  ___ 1,156
8/14/1941 ___ 135,334  ___ 1,353
8/21/1941 ___ 154,415  ___ 1,544
8/28/1941 ___ 174,188  ___ 1,742
9/4/1941 ___ 193,401  ___ 1,934
9/11/1941 ___ 215,626  ___ 2,156
9/18/1941 ___ 238,642  ___ 2,386
9/25/1941 ___ 262,688  ___ 2,627
10/2/1941 ___ 287,826  ___ 2,878
10/9/1941 ___ 312,946  ___ 3,129

Total returned to pool ___ 24,109

or

Date ___ Axis Men Disabled _ returned to pool
6/26/1941 ___ 15,700  ___ 157
7/3/1941 ___ 13,663  ___ 137
7/10/1941 ___ 13,876  ___ 139
7/17/1941 ___ 13,462  ___ 135
7/24/1941 ___ 17,541  ___ 175

It's cumulative/perpetually.

I think most players don't pay enough attention to the manpower production of the Axis Allies. The Finns get so few replacements, it's a mistake to put them in heavy combat, even though it's a great temptation.

The Slovak manpower production is about 2% of their total front-line strength EVERY TURN. So, go ahead and burn up those units, the manpower is free

Hungarian manpower production is a bit low, but they have the luxury of accumulating for a year before they are in heavy combat, so there is usually Manpower available.

You cannot add Poland/Czech MP straight up, it should be multiplied by 0.08, adjusted for other fronts and then added to German MP.

Interesting.
Then by turn 61 (August 13, 1942) in Pelton v M60, where the Axis have 1,314,457 disabled, there are ~13k replacements returning to the pools from the disabled stack per week?  With ~65% of those going to Germany that means about 19K total Germans into the manpower pool weekly (not including Polish/Czech contribution)?

I'm curious when the tipping point is that German weekly manpower recruitment/recovery begins to fall.  Later I might peruse some other games that made it into '43 or '44 for a peek at the Axis disabled figures.  German/Polish/Czech manpower builds/transfers should be easy enough to estimate into '44.

I presume this functions from the Polish/Czech manpower pool (as with disabled manpower recovery), not weekly recruitment?

Don't forget the many reinforcement divisions the Germans get. Especially in 1942, its over 650K (net gain after subtracting withdrawals), more than they get back in new manpower.

Manpower is not the problem for the Germans. I constantly have a surplus. It is ARM points that the Germans are lacking.
