Whenever I try to install, I get a message that says:
The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are running.
I'm running 64-bit Windows 7 and have had no issues installing any of the betas or the game itself previously.
Any ideas?

Some Suggestions:
  • Right click and run as Administrator
  • Right click, properties and change compatibility.
  • Redownload as it might be corrupted.

Same issue, same OS. Tried all above ideas, no dice. Is there a 64 bit version for us Windows 7 types?

A bunch of people here have reported that they already run it on 64 Windows 7.

Re-downloaded and re-installed from scratch and, after 2 tries, got it working.
Did still get a wonderfule registry error:

Invalid RegKey: HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Wow6432Node\MatrixGames\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition

but it does seem to be working.

Game has worked fine for years, beta patches work fine, just this "official" patch has an issue. I'm running latest beta no problem.

The download from the matrix site worked fine. Must have been something with that very early file up one of the mirrors.

Probably the downloaded update file was corrupted, at least in the screenshot the update does not display an icon

I had the same problem using the download site.
    Vista, 64 bit.

I ended up trying the "check for updates" link on the AE Game Launcher.
    Worked fine.
