It looks like he has two carriers operating in the Solomons and two operating in the DEI.

I find myself falling into the same trap I always fall into: moving too slowly and acting too much like McClellan...wanting to prep and tinker here and there too much. I have been reacting more than acting the last few turns and I need to put a stop to that.

This is extremely annoying. He had a stack of troops sitting next to Wuchang. I reconned this hex persistently and kept getting reports of about 15,000 troops there with no indication of movement.

Well, they WERE moving and there were a lot more than 15,000 troops. The garrison held but I don't know how much longer they will. Air recon is completely unreliable so far in this game.

Over 400,000 Chinese troops are on the offensive in Central China around Ichang, Henkow, and Wuchang. 91,000 of them just took Wuchang.

Playing as the allies, I never had enough supply to do anything like this even early in the game. I feel off-stride here.

I have found as the Allies and Scenario #1 that the supplies in China are scarce but that concentrated attacks agasint specific targets are not only possible but effective. Alfred has posted the effects of supply but the penalty for supply is linear and does not go to zero. So zero supply is 25% of unadusted AV, 50% supply is about 60% of unadjusted and so on ..

Now I found that 60% of a lot [say 4K AV] is enough to strike weak spots, and have done so in my game driving the IJA crazy ...

There is a secondary penality for low supplies although .. disabled/disruption does not seem to heal .. so this cannot be a long term strategy IMHO, and eventually a lot becomes a little ..

In the meantime although, I have been able to cutoff IJ LOC and force operations to places the IJ did not want to invest in .. while the clock ticks ..

Just a thought ..

That seems to be what my opponent is doing. I think I'm going to go over to the defensive in central China.

All quiet on submarine front. My subs can't find any targets. US subs have a 95% dud rate on their torps. Dutch subs have been quiet lately.

In other news, Rabaul fell and there was some mild ground combat in China. Tarakan was invaded by the 5th Amphibious Corps but not taken on the first turn. It is now January 18th. Bombardment continues at Clark Field, and my troops will be moving into Singapore on the 20th or 21st.
