OK, I added the additional info in. The "Market Share" column indicates how much of that airports pax traffic he owns.
I also commented to indicated whether he was the first, 2nd or 3rd largest carrier at that airport.

Okay, well, I shot MAC an pm over there once I returned explaining that I was away and not able to reply........not sure why he just did not PM Great Plains himself about the issue. But, I am a little irritated that he clobbered me while I was away. I clobbered him right back and we will see if that wakes him up.

If not, well then he might be in for a rude awakening in dealing with me.

Thanks for the thoughts guys........I have 30 idle planes sitting in O2.......have not even started looking at my routes yet. But I guess if AEOLOS wants a war, I am game for one. We need to divide the map though. Someone jump Asia, another Europe, another the US etc.........that way we can focus on areas and not have to do an entire map search for him.

We won't need to divide the map by geographic area.

I've mapped out the 25 airports that he has the most traffic at.

I think we can key in on these, rather than having to check a whole country/continent.

Once we have a count of who is in on this, we can divide the gates up so that we are not duplicating efforts.

My airline is Virgin America in O2, and Lufthansa in R5. 2nd Acer told me about this place.
Virgin America
HQ:SFO
Hubs:SXM, ALG, TPA, SXF, LTN, GLA, DEL, THR, GOA, and HAM.
Virgin America mainly serves North America, Europe, some of Africa, Middle East, and South Asia. Virgin America does a lot of Trans-Atlantic flights.

Lufthansa
HQ:SXF
Country:Germany
Hubs:SXF, HHN, and CGN.
Lufthansa has flights all around Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East from Germany.

O2:
Depreciation of the Tu-114 is such that MEUS can buy a Tu-114 that has been leased for 6.5 years for $0, after an allowance of half the lease is offset against the plane cost.

MEUS am sitting on some spare 747 and A300 planes, just itching for action...

I could not take it any longer and just popped 4 of AEOLOS routes............1 really good solo route he had. He now has 20% market on that puppy.

He has been messing with about 5 of my really good money routes for awhile and I just could not take it any more.

I got 2 upstarts in O2 that have just been warned by PM that spamming my routes is not a smart thing to do. I would hate to have to fire a warning shot on them because that is usually fatal to small airlines. LOL

Oh and in R5, it is hard as hell to find a damned route that Meus has not occupied already.

Seems like you just go around and grab every damned long haul there is........dang you. LOL

I've already mapped out some of Aeolos's empty routes out of CAI(meaning I designate that as one I am hunting on).

Once we launch the op.....

If you want to first hit him on routes that you are on, that makes sense.

If you want to start searching for his empty routes now, I suggest that we each pick one or more of his gates from the list I posted above. If you decide on one(s) that you are searching, post that in this thread so that we are not duplicating our efforts.
You could make a list of choice target routes and then wait for the go-ahead from 2ACR so that we hit him simultarneously.

PS/ Congrats on your #2 rank 2ACR.

Everyone drop on AEOLOS now.........he is applying heat to Virgin America, so let's go ahead and apply the pressure.

I am going to start with the following gates:

SKG
HER

And try to suck up any solo routes I can find from there first before expanding outward.

Okay, I just added 10 mil to my daily profit all at his expense. Well, at a few other airlines expense too.

SKG and HER are fully covered by me. He took a hit this day.

I just dropped planes on 21 of his solo routes out of CAI-Cairo.

He used to be the largest airline in CAI with a 24% market share.

After I finished up in CAI, I am first at 23%, he is second with a 16% market share.

Keep it up everyone!

AEOLOS came online at 3:30am and is still online........I will wait until he drops offline again to adjust prices and then clobber another 2-3 routes.

So far, he has only dropped me down about 2 mil from where I was after clobbering his routes. But he is actively watching his routes, I no sooner dropped prices and moved to another route than he had adjusted the prices on the precious route again.

That is not worth my time.

Came online this morning.

The target made adjustments to the routes I moved in on.

I adjusted back to undercut.

Tonight will search for more of his solo routes to drop in on.

We need to take it up a notch and keep the pressure on.

S1: Prism (formerly MEUS) have a reorganisation. All jets are sold, leaving only 2 regional airlines. One operates prop planes out of Alaska, the home of Prism. The other service is a helicopter service for New York. Regrettably 120,000 staff lose their jobs.

O2:
MEUS finally bring all aircraft into service, with new flights including those below. All fares are less than rival AEOLOLOLOEOS (or something like that)
bkk-cph
nrt-atl, -sin, -kul
nrt-lhr, -muc (with sieb..)
alg-atl, -ist, -osl, -dme, -cph, -jed, -edi, -hel, -gla,
alg-bgo, -led, -vko, -ssh-kwi, -amm, -trd, -lxr
bug-svq, -opo, -amm
ath-khi, -edi, -opo, -shj
ath-ham (with buffalo)

R5
19 April 1995: MEUS now have round the world trips available via Albany\Orlando to Moscow to Anchorage and back to origin
3 Jan 1996: MEUS buy airplane with ID = 1, a Boeing 737-300
1 July 1997: MEUS halt purchases of short haul planes for the present. Some 107 planes are still idle.

And in other news, O2........Falcon has asked to join us.......he is a decent sized airline that received a "are you sure you want to do this" warning from me a few days ago. So far, he has not adjusted any prices on the 10-15 routes he "invaded" of mine since I issued the warning notice.

Should we admit him or not? I am game only because even though he has not responded to my PM in a message, he has left prices alone on the battle routes (hard to check because I have too many and cannot remember them) but all pax counts in the green. That shows some honor.

AEOLOS counter invades 3 of my routes, poor schmuk is using DC8 against my TU114. He had to drop prices to over a hundred below mine just to get my economy pax down to 60%.

I will have to check my Ehlo's routes when I get home.

As for falcon I would be inclined to vote no on membership.
I know he is on a number of routes that I am and had also done the price cutting thing on me. Do we think he's going to adjust or abandoned the routes that we are on with him if we let him join?

He is a good-sized airline but do we think that we need more members at this point or are we getting to or already at the point where too large a membership list will just mean we'll be tripping all over each other's routes?
Do we think he wants to join because he wants to work with us or simply as a way to get us off his back because were killing him?

just some things to consider but again I would lean towards a no vote

I had some medical issues and other items to take care of that became "sudden". I was putting up new lines and changing flights when the real world took over. Missed a bit of whatever was happening. MareNostrum was closed by me. Over 200 in debt and no real way to clean up. Italy has been pretty much cleared of my lines..lol. Lost 4 other lines in different worlds due to inactivity. Now Great Plains has over 300 planes to route. Ugh. SO anyways, i'll try to fix any problems you all see. Just let me know in-game. And let MACAir know that I apologize for whatever issues I might have created....

R5: For what it's worth.. 103 planes now placed, none long haul, about 90 on Dantes \ Flagship \ mixed routes

O2: Falcon - has a huge number of leased planes on order. Has no particular history with me - not bothered

Okay, will place Falcon on the not right now list.........I might even let him know that spamming our routes does not earn any goodwill to membership. If he wants to share a route, it is better to ask and wait on a reply. I have granted many a small airline permission to have a slice of a route if they actually ask me first.

Thank you sir. Those 2 have been a major pain in my butt.

In answer to a question from 2nd ACR, in world R5, I use the TU-204-100:

vs 757-200 = Tu has less seats, shorter ranged, cheaper to run, much cheaper to buy
For short haul the 757 doesn't seem quite right - it's range goes to waste and the price is high

vs 737-400 = Tu has more seats, longer ranged, more expensive to run, much cheaper to buy
The Tu provides service at slightly longer range and hence has some uses even if the 737 is generally better

vs A320-200 = Tu has more seats, shorter ranged, much more expensive to run, cheaper to buy
Only the initial cost of the Tu is a benefit.

Overall the cheap price is attractive against any rival, though the A320-200 is probably a better long term option. I used the Tupolev to start with because the low price helped early expansion, as did the fact I could then order several similar planes at the same time and hence expand faster. The case for more Tu-204 is weak now though, and will fade more when the 737-800 is available.

Okay, was just wondering. I have had no problems at all with the A320-200........actually, it has out performed just about every other a/c.

I have just stayed away from the Russian planes as I have found all the ones I tried could not compete with the western a/c.

Not sure but I noticed payrolls had doubled earlier.

Posted the info into a bug thread:
