Well, they have not said extend O1, which is the world we are discussing. And O2 already ends in 2030. LOL

That name could work. I think we need to find a name and stick with that in all worlds. So people always know who they are messing with. We might just stick with that one for all worlds we enter.

Jeez.... Too many worlds I am in.

I agree, we should choose an alliance name and then use that name across all worlds we are in----go forward though.
I think changing it now in existing worlds and getting everyone to rejoin would be too much of a hassle.

So then we will need to wait and see when they reset the O1 world.

We shall see, I might think of a couple of names and put them to a vote. Yours is on the list.

Also, O2, people are losing new planes to the used bin. So be watching it. I just nabbed another 757-200.

Changes in open world O2:
1) MEUS rebrands to Prism in January 1985

2) A new focus comes to the reborn airline on helicopter routes only

3) Open season commences on MEUS fixed wing routes, including but not limited to routes below
I don't plan on keeping any fixed wing planes except the Shorts 330. R5 is my focus now.
If you want to "compete", add some planes, then give me the City Pair to cut.

Meus,

Here are the ones that I placed planes at:

LGW - CAN 5899 12x Weekly $6,578,922
LAS - FLL 2169 50x Weekly $5,748,078
DTW - FCO 4613 20x Weekly $5,378,016
MUC - CLT 4565 12x Weekly $5,299,812
PIT - PMI 4210 21x Weekly $4,391,422
NAS - LPA 3800 24x Weekly $3,748,885

Much appreciated for taking the time to do this and allow the alliance members to pick them up.

I tried to use similar planes, but since I cannot see the pax info on the front screen, I may have to do some adjustments after you drop off.

Thanks again.

In R5, my Euro airline "7B" was just working its way in Slovakia, airport SKG. All except for the upper/most expensive gates, I made my way down to ORk--roughly left off at the 70 pax mark (ORK).

Next going to Greece and checking airport SKG as I was previously forced to build a terminal there. Now that I had to do that, I may as well use as many gates as I can.

Edit:

My Euro line 7B is now at PRG in Czech Republic working its way down the list.

Well, I see a few of us have been hit by the new upstart 1st National. Checked his profile and saw Chijohn, Dixie had all checked him out. He might have a rude surprise coming soon.

I just sent him his only warning about spamming my routes. He is not even being subtle about it either. His loss.

There was a HUGE dump into the used plane bin early this morning in R5.

Between approximately May 20th to June 6, 2000 (gametime)I spent around $6.4 billion purchasing planes from the bin for my Brazilian airline (Siebenburgen Air). I lost track of how many in total. At one point I started to lease some as I was nervous about my cash reserves dipping too low. While a few of the planes were relatively new 737-800s that I will use to swap out and sell some aging 737-400s, the overwhelming majority of planes purchases were long haul Airbuses (A340-200s & 300s), and Boeings (767-200ERs, 767-300ERs, some 777-200s, and a handful of 757-200s).

Then bottom line of all these acquired planes:
DoP increased by more than $22 million.

DoP now stands at $192,581,882.
Aircraft Statistics
Fleet Size: 1042 (1005 owned + 37 leased)
Rank is still in 10th place overall.

My European Airline has been taking advantage of the newly opened EU Open Skies and has been adding destinations, passengers and routes to its service. There are not an overwhelming # of empty high passenger routes available, but I have added planes when I found them, and have for the most part been concentrating on the 70-125 pax count routes that are still available. There are still a good number of them to be found, so the profits they generate, while not spectacular, will be a source of steady income to the bottom line.

According to the website, " At least two new realistic ® worlds will start next weekend."

One of them is "World O1"

The timeline will be 1990-2030.
No political restrictions
20 minute days
Max of 2 airlines per person
Starting aircraft:
B737-300
MD-83
ATP
ATR-42-400
Saab SF-340
Beech 1900C

Somewhat confusing is the O1 signup screen which indicates that "Time starts Monday 9pm GMT"

There are already 89 people registered so if you are going to signup, do it sooner than later.

I have registered 2 airlines:

Siebenburgen Air, based out of KOJ (Japan)
Starting off with a Boeing 737-300

7B, based out of GRU (Brazil)
Starting off with a Boeing 737-300

There are now 109 airlines registered.

Don't dawdle.....

100 now in O2........I created 2 airlines to suck up the open slots faster.

Air France based in Paris, France
Mitch Air based in Minneapolis, Minn

Once we get a count of how many and who is joining we will decide on a Alliance Name for use in all worlds from now on.

We currently have the following names for vote:

1. MB Global Alliance (MB stands for Matrix Boys)
2. Matrix Boys

Those are the current selections for alliance names. If you have any ideas, please submit them.

O2, just picked up 20 A310-200 and 10 767-200 from the used bin.

1st national responded with a "I will spam/take over any route I want, it is called competition" time to go on the war path in O2.

O1, I am already getting invites from alliances. LOL

I guess I will start up the alliance with the 1st name on the list.

Accepted both.

Both airlines have their routes set and full aircraft utilization has been achieved.

Each airline has ordered 2 737-300s.

I wish in this scenario they had allowed you to choose Airbus as one of the choices.
I plan on switching to Airbus for one of the airlines but will not be able to do that right out of the gate. Don't want to run up those maintenance costs at the start.

Looks like Fusil Air is heading that way, loads of A330 aircraft are sat in the market. Just what I need to gain more routes from Luton.

Fly Yellow has bought half a dozen of the A330s with Trent 772 engines, they've been set to work from Luton and even Leeds-Bradford on several long haul routes with low demands. Looks like the short runways at LTN and LBA is keeping most people away

Their is nearly always a way to get a plane/jet out of short runway airports.

Sometimes you just need to look closely at the engine options when ordering planes.
One engine configuration may work while another does not.

I went ahead and ordered 2 A320-200 in O1. I plan to switch over as soon as I can. I have not taken any bonds out what so ever yet on either airline.

I intend to switch over to those same models, but didn't want to start out right out of the gate with an additional multi-million maintenance base cost.

It is sort of a catch 22........but I just do not want to have a mass of planes to upgrade later down the road. I know I will have to anyway. Just like I am doing in O2 and R5........just stripped all me A300 family out of R5. Almost rid of the 707 family in O2, no Super VC left, whittling down my TU114 fleet, working on my DC fleet too. LOL

O2 will see a new member soon. Another old timer I been slowly cultivating. Sent a PM over there to you Sein.

I hear you.

A couple days ago when there was a big plane dump I spent around $6billion in plane purchases over a 2week game period. (noted earlier in thread).

I had to start leasing by the end because I didn't want to dip too low in the cash reserve and become an involuntary contributor to the used plane bin.

Unless I see an example of a small number of planes that I will buy on the spot, I will now try to resort to the bin only when I have a route I need to place it on.

Now that I have basically trimmed my R5 fleet down to Airbus and Boeing, I can back off. I am still working on trimming my actual families down though.

But mainly waiting on the A319-100LR........so I can see how it performs and then go from there.

O2, Air France is down to the last 5 707-320 series. Once they are replaced, that will end the 707 family. Then I still have another 100 TU114 and 300 CL44 to replace. LOL.....and that does not count the 300 or so DC9 series I still have in the fleet or the several hundred 747 family.

I am scouting out SkyBlue.
Have found 5 of his solo routes out of BHX.
I dropped planes on them and shrunk his piece of the pie significantly.
I intend to move onto his next gate and do the same.
Then his next gate, lather, rinse & repeat.

On one route out of EMA, I took him from 239 pax to 11.

Sky blue is a pain to my routes from Turkey too now. Fighting him of course.

My Dad and I have come to a decision and plan for our Airlines. In R5 DC Air will gradually close his routes starting down in a week or so - I'll take them over from Brit Air. That should put me probably about 2ndish in the rankings when complete.

DC Air will start in O1. Dad (DC Air) would like to join the Matrix gang again if good with you all?

I'm trying not to annoy him too much just yet, on routes where he's matching my prices then I'm tempted to keep sharing for now at least. If he's undercutting my prices on a route then I'm either matching his price if there are just us two or undercutting if there's more competition. Hopefully I'll be in a stronger position soon as the Fly Yellow long range fleet snaffles up some long haul routes from secret places
