I have no objections to your dad joining the alliance.

Glad your are transitioning the closure here, that way you take up his slack, and the alliance loses nothing.

Keep up the efforts against Sky Blue---lets give him something to think about....

Dixie,

Do not forget that our alliance is more than a way of gaining reputation.
We can, and will circle the wagons and smack anyone if need be.

You and I (my 7B airline) are each smaller than he is, but together, and with the others in the alliance. we can administer pain if we want.

Looks like O1 is filled. 301 airlines with 300 allowed.

I hope that everyone intending to register got in in time.

Thanks.

I always fight back on routes if I can.

Yup once the transition takes effect over the next 2 weeks my DOP should reach about 410m.

I'm also consciously making sure no one else gets a start in turkey. So far I've crushed 3 other Turkish airlines that started and idiotically started competing in routes without any communication or thought.

Then I would suggest Monaco in one of the R-n worlds. If I recall, Monaco has no airports; its only means of air travel is a heliport.

You can't get much smaller than that!

For the time being just fight him without running a loss).

As for competition, my Brazil airlines has had to repeatedly beat back young usurpers.

WHen I started out, there were 5 of us in Brazil. when I was ranked 3rd of 5, I took on #4 (he was an incessant pest) and put him into a death spiral. I did the same thing to #5. I leapt ahead of number 3. Number 1 (Aero Brasil), was ranked #1 in the world until Meus passed him; Aero Brasil ended up pulling the plug on his airline. I have left the other remaining airline in Brasil be. I'm sure I could take him out of I wanted to, but why? As it is, he serves as a deterrent and makes Brazil a bit less inviting for others. And he doesn't compete with me on routes. He has his routes; I have mine, and a handful we share.

Since then I have stomped 3 or four airlines that were foolish enough to come in and jump my routes.

The other Brazilian airline - Gramploud Airlines - was in O2 as well, slow growing and very passive. I think you are sensible to leave him alone. His O2 airline is now neglected and dying as aircraft reach the end of their leases and are not bought\replaced.

Anyone had any trouble out of Flyme in R5.......or had dealings with him? He sent a join request to us in O1. Joined 2011. He is European based, so you guys are the judge.

And the request swamp continues in O2.......just denied 3 requests at this time due to growth. One if Fly.Me based in Asia. I know he got the PM because he is online now. So if you see him contact you about conflict routes, that will be a positive in his favor. Now we see if he takes the advice.

I believe that I have him competing on some of my routes.

I can't think of anything that he has done (other than spirited competition).

I would have no objections to letting him join, provided he understands the strategy of our alliance, and at times, he may be called in to help fight against other airlines that are threatening an alliance member.

Have not heard back from him........I did state who we were in R5 where he operates and that we work extremely closely together on routes and against airlines that irritate us.

I will go ahead and approve his joining and we shall see what happens. Not like I cannot boot him right back out again.

Accepted and also restated how we operate.

Tigrincs Airlines, based out of Dublin, Ireland, has lost planes to the used Plane bin.

A possible opportunity for our European members.

R5- My bank balance has taken a pounding as we massively expand the Euro short-haul fleet with a mix of ATR, Saab, A320 and A330 aircraft. As a part of the plans a new terminal and hub have been opened in Italy. It's time to get aggressive and start climbing that ladder. The bank balance went from over a billion to 600 million, luckily it's already climbing again so we shall see what happens soon....

I see in the airline news tab that you built/expanded your terminal in FCO 3 times.

I also noted that Orbit just built a terminal in FCO.

Wonder if he is "stalking" you. Perhaps he finds it easier to simply poach someone else's routes then to actively search for himself.

Watch your back and check your FCO routes to see if he has dropped in on them.

Orbit is also being a pain in my butt on some routes, he hit a bunch all at once. Might be time to send a little warning shot. I need to scope him out more. Just did a major route check adjusting prices. Meus, I tried to match on routes with Blue Sky, also popped a couple of his other routes too.

O1 should go active in about 7 minutes.......4pm CST.

Accepted Formosa Air in R5.......should have no conflicts with this airline flying from Taiwan. He looks to be the biggest on the island.

O2, still waiting on America West to accept invite. He has been focused on R5, I told him whenever he is ready.

Orbit is a bit of a chump. He is contesting on some Turkish routes. DC air contacted him as he was more than happy to continuously lower prices into the red. DC air asked what he's trying to accomplish. Orbits response was that he wants 100% share! Lol. DC air stated he'll never get that and a route share is the best offer. Orbits response was no. Lol.

If I could I would have swamped orbits routes alas my hands Re tied.

As an aside I doubt I'll play in a realistic world again. I predict by 2010 there'll not be any route left worth going for out of turkey!

Realistic is hard.......I am making 140 mil a day in R5 and am happy there.

Well, Orbit took one in the neck on my routes he invaded going to Europe. So he can kiss my backside. I need to see who he actually is over there. The last US player that basically told me to stick it died a violent death. Most have been pretty agreeable now that most have learned who we are and how we deal with others.

We still irritate some of the sticklers but I don't care. Some of the old timers there actually like the way we mass defend each other when we need to do so. Plus they really like the way we communicate heavily and share routes or even contact others to work out issues before we just spam a route like others do all the time.

Sounds like its time to order up some more props and turn the tables on Orbit.

Once I get home I will check my routes and see what he has done since I last checked them.

Good, that provides more immediate satisfaction......

Have not dug into my individual routes yet but an overall glance at the routes list indicates red on some LCY routes, which is he was primarily hitting me.

O1.......the first month is hell........still have about 2 hours before a new plane arrives so I can exploit another route. But did not go red with either airline either at the 15th so should be safe around the 1st, could be close though.

France making a whopping 140,000 a day and US making 170,000 a day.

O2, people continue to lose new jets and I continue to snap them up and place them. Down to about 60 TU114 and 300 CL44 left to go. 3 707-320C left to swap out. Then I only have to worry about swapping about 1000 other planes. LOL

In R1, did not go into red @ 15th. One airline took bonds and ordered a couple extra 737-300s. The other airline did not borrow.

My Japan airline making $180k/day; Brazil making $204k/day.

R5 Orbit is becoming an annoyance. Had to go through and make a slew of price adjustments due to him.

O2, I have spent little time in. Have over 230 planes sitting idle. Had ordered a ton of jets and swapped almost none of them in yet.

I been splitting my time. Spent a bunch in O2 lately swapping planes and raiding the used bin for new planes. AEOLOS just took one in the head, he jumped one of my 1800 mile routes with a L1011.......he now faces 3 IL18 doing 2 a days there at low low prices. I am making 10,000 per day on that route, he has to be losing money hand over fist on that route. I still have 27 idle IL18 for his butt if he gets frisky.

R5 is mainly on auto pilot right now, awaiting my A319-100LR planes to arrive. Then see what damage I can do on some long haul routes with them.

O1, took 5 mil bond on Air France but no bond on Mitch Air. Was afraid of the gate fees at CDG thought they would push me red.

My Brazil airline in R5 did manage to swap out its last 737-400 for new 737-800.

Now I have to continue swapping some idle 737-600s in for 737-500 I will be phasing out.

As I have gotten new A340-200s & 300s I have been swapping them in for 747-400s. I had started selling the older 747s, but then I realized I was still finding long distance routes. Granted, they are routes with 100 or less pax/day. I can use that old jet to do the run once or twice a week and still make some DoP. The 747s at this point are generally not competitive against new long distance jets, but on these small pax routes, there are no competitors (yet). So I am no longer selling the older 747s as long as I can continue to find these sorts of empty routes.

Ended up taking a $1million bond for my Brazilian airline. When Feb 1 turned, I was left with $700,000.

We now have what---like an hour and a half until my first plane delivery.

I actually scrapped 2 747-400 instead when I saw someone snapping them up. Just could not let them get off cheap.

O2, just bought 28 ATR 42-300 off the used market and swapped out some F27.......just ordered 30 more. Better fuel, less range, less pax but also lower maint per month over all.

After you get your first Airbus, can you post what the base maintenance cost is?

I am trying to decide whether to switch to the Airbus A320-200, or whether I will continue with the 737-300 but go ahead and order a 757-200. If can get an additional 500 miles with the Airbus, I think I can wait an additional few months to order a 757-200.
