Hello

It is January 1942 and I cannot get Russian brigades to form into divisions.
I can get cavalry divisions to form into cavalry corps but nothing is happening when I press the same symbol to form brigades into divisions.
Why is this not working?
What will happen in February 1942 when I can form paratroop brigades into guards infantry divisions and I cannot do this.

Help or advice urgently needed.

(if the timetable has changed from the latest version of the manual I need to know it but I believed that Russian infantry brigades could form into divisions since June 1941 but it is still not happening and now it is urgent.)

Many versions ago infantry brigades were restricted to forming into divisions only from May 42 on. Unfortunately we are still in the process of moving all of the readme notes into the latest version of the manual so it is still best to search the readme file (or ask here). I don't recall a change in the way airborne brigades are handled.

Did you try true rifle brigades or may there have been a naval rifle brigade as part of your test?
Naval rifle brigades using the naval rifle brigade TOE can't be merged into Rifle divisions although there may be some naval rifle Bdes using a standard rifle Bde TOE.
Did you try with two or three Bdes?

Understood.
I had not tried to do that.
As infantry brigades cannot be formed into divisions until May 1942, could you please say when airborne brigades can form into guards rifle divisions?
Is it still Mary 1942?

The rifle brigade change was made in January 2011. I don't see anything in the readme that indicates airborne rules were changed from the original manual rules.

Matt, rules aside, I would advise you not to waste those airborne brigades on conversions to guards rifle divisions. Save that cap for, well, actual rifle divisions. You can eventually flip the airborne into guards airborne divisions in 43, and these are not subject to the caps that govern how many guards rifle divisions you can get.

Also, there's reasons to keep at least some of these para brigades throughout the entire game. You can play tricks with them.

Aaaaah - this has been driving me nuts for ages. I was reading and re-reading the manual and couldn't work out what the problem was. Good to know its just a date change thing.
