I have a problem in a game with a human opponent
my opponent does not know how to load my turn.

we played three rounds at the Senario gunfigth Flavion.
I can load the turn 3 of my opponent and my turn to play.
My opponent does not know how to load my turn 3.
Can you explain this?

I join the screen of my opponent

Status: offline 		Couple things it could be, see if he can tell you the time/date stamp of the file he got from you, see if it is indeed the one you sent him, sometimes if one is not carteful, and log everything, it can get confusing!!

Also, occasionally, if you exit the game too fast after hitting next turn, it can be corrupted.

Make sure also, that he or you actually pressed the next turn button, happens!!

Status: offline 		I'm with Mike in the area of you sent him the wrong file.
Have your opponent remove the ".bte" files from his WF game folder. You should check your file to see if you ended the game, (by trying to play the scenario from the file you have). Then send it to him again.

Most battle file errors are because the turn was not ended or the receiver did not replace the previous ".bte" file, (or put the new file into a different game folder), or entered the wrong encryption password.

Good luck. A little deducing and patience will help you get through this.

can you change the file name, or should we keep the same name?
in PBEM, I always add the turn number to the filename

It just brings more confusion and could be the possible cause of your opponents problem playing the game.
And, if using passwords, you could have two or more bte files with different names and the same password. This will cause the game to sometimes freeze up or create a battle file error.

I find that the simple overwrite of the file when it is downloaded keeps things streamlined. Why would you need to keep track of the game's turn through the file name? It seems redundant. And, adds another step to a simple process.

Status: offline 		I agree, you can always just add a notation in the email header of your message as to which turn, but I never do. Just use the same zip folder too, I use a schedule on paper, that I check off,
Name of Game, EF WF RS Korean War
Name of Scenario File
Name of Opponent

Then the following each time I do each action:
1)Downloaded zip file
2)Unzipped File
3)Played File
4)Zipped Played File
5)Sent Zipped File

This eliminates any problems on my end. If you run into a problem, always have your opponent verify he received the same file you sent, by using the date/times stamp of your last file sent!
