No, the Bismarck just was superior, that was why they had to scuttle her. They also knew ahead, that there'd be some who think it is a significant difference whether a ship is sunk by enemy fire or scuttled just before the first thing had happend!

Why would it have taken Chuck that long?

The Brits gave the Germans 72 hours to get out of Poland for a reason ... Chuck would have taken no longer than that to win the war, surely?
