Holy ****e. There it is. I can't believe it worked. Not because of you guys, because of me.

Word of advice- don't come anywhere near the Grand Old Lady with that thing - or I'll blast you with my 4-inchers.

No way. "Katja" is a bomber-killer. She's a high-flyer.

For some reason I suddenly remembered a picture I elected not to post. Now I changed my mind. A great Lady deserves to have her whole carrier honored.

I don't know; maybe I won't get it. Not familiar with those counters, but I can't imagine that div. not being represented. . . Is that a corps level game? Orm has a divisional level unit in his avatar (XX).

I have a division because in the Swedish and Finnish forests the ski troops ruled during the winter. And the Nordic countries had the best ski troops. And a lot of forests and other terrain where it was impossible to get motorized units. Here is a picture of two vigilant Swedish volunteers (soldiers) during the Finnish Winter War.

AT section. I THINK those are Boys .55s.

Do you know how sad that picture makes me? What a sad end to such a beautiful ship. Shocking decision not to preserve her....

nate25 - you know better than that - do not mention boys around Orm; before you know it the thread will be full of Aussie Surfer Dude pics

Isn't it Boyes anyway?

I had a feeling that it would make you sad. That was the reason I did not post it the first time. When I posted it I felt that I didn't have the words to descibe my feelings. I agree that it is sad that they didn't preserve her.

But I still think that the picture do her honor in her last journey.

I really don't think so. I believe it's B-o-y-s.

I find I'm wrong on a daily level, though.

Yes, but the Grand Old Lady refused to be taken to the breakers. She ran aground on her way there (you can see she is sinking at the bow) and was left, gradually being broken up over the next few years in situ. Sad. Sad. Sad.

My dear nate (chuckling) it is Boyes not Boys - as any elementary student of the anti-tank weapon would know.

Jeez. That IS less than dignified.

Bikini would've been preferable, I think, to that.

Well I'm too tired to find the proof - I'll do it later.

In the meantime goodnight Boyes.

You never entered the wiki page.

If you did you would have known it redirected you to another wiki page - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boys_anti-tank_rifle.

Goode night my olde friend. Sleepe well.

And Orm, I get a re-direct from Boyes to Boys when I go to Wiki. And I dislike Wiki very much.

No joking about Bikini. Not the place for that.

I just know small arms pretty well.

Yes. That was the fun part about that link. The link is named Boyes but when you enter the page it is Boys. Fun.

But since you guys didn't get it I guess I botched it.

I think we're all crossed up here, my friend.

I knew it was Boys from the beginning.

I think we are trying to say the same thing. Re-read my posts.

B O Y S.

The weapon was named after H. C. Boys, member, British Small Arms Committee.

Every source I looked at stated Boys, not Boyes, except for Wiki, which redirects you to the correct spelling. Congratulations, Wiki, you have that one right.

There's a neat little training film on Youtube done by Disney for the Canadians. Some real basic lessons on ballistics, spall effect, etc.

The poor guy firing this thing must have gone deaf after the film. No hearing protection at all. One of the other members at our local range had a Barrett .50 there a couple months back. I got to send two rounds, (which was really cool of him because .50 BMG isn't cheap) and my plugs were totally inadequate up close.
