Do all Chinese units come back as Zombies or just infantry? What about HQ and ENG units?

Only infantry, as per section 16.4.2 of the manual

16.4.2 SPECIAL CHINESE REPLACEMENTS
Chinese infantry units that are totally destroyed are recreated. When destroyed, the unit is set
to return to Chungking 30 days later at 1/3 of it’s TO&E strength. These replacement units do
not use up any units from the replacement pool. They represent the almost unlimited ability of
China to replace infantry units if needed.

Destroying Chinese corps is a complex decision, but killing HQ, artillery or engineer unit is not... (and those are the one that tend to go first, during long sieges or ugly retreats).

Thanks. In RA you have to kill them, since most of them are at full strength.

I've actually destroyed Chinese Inf units just trying to push them back and firm up my LOCs. They can be such fragile things at times.

Crap. Another detail I mis-understood or never knew. I spent all kinds of time letting an HQ wander by hoping it would run out of supply and starve, but alas I just had to snuff it. I did eventually.

Good to know that base forces don't return also.
