I had an unescorted AV out in harm's way and a Dutch sub found her. The damage is extensive as you can see so I'm going to have to
pull her back to a repair yard somewhere to fix the damage if I can get her back to safety somehow. The sub may chase her for all I
know. It would be just like Jim to do that just to guarantee a sinkage. I would too.

Even when they outnumber and AVG my Nates are no match. I wonder if I should stand down the Nates or hope for some Allied
losses. One more contest to get a gauge of the conflict might be in order. If no Allied losses then I'll stand down the Nates and try to
find some Oscar's to fly there instead.

This raid is another example of the insignificant amount of damage being done by these raids. I'm thinking I'm going to need a bigger
gaggle of planes to really get to the level of shock and awe. I may need to give some thought to flying a lot more bombers into the AO
to give some juice to my Beat-Down program. Clark Field may be a tough nut to crack.

The air war near Singapore is still going on. I'm wondering if I'm hitting the correct target. I'm guessing that Singapore itself would be
more appropriate to hit but at least there were some Allied losses on this raid.

I'm guessing this raid on Dili occured before Dili was captured. Anyway, I've boosted the altitude of the Lilly's to 10K feet and maybe that
will prevent some of the damage that occured during the raid. I've moved a Mavis unit to Dili to give a much better view of the Darwin sea area.

Here's the result of another expensive unescorted raid into Singapore. It's costly but I'm told it's necessary to keep the Allies from
building up their fort level. I hope that's true. I don't need a high-level fort to be there when and if I finally get there.

Another Allied raid on Hanoi. I'm wondering if I ought to move a Nate group into that hex to do some CAP at the very least.

As a side note, this is the state of health of some of my air groups. Not too great but then they've been flying since the start of the war.
I'm infusing more pilots and upping the level of rest on some of the groups to try to boost the morale and lower the fatigue of them. We'll
see if it works in future turns.

And here's a carrier raid on Singapore that indeed WAS escorted and it STILL got shotup pretty well. This raid was expensive. And
not much Allied damage was done. I'm not sure this raid was worth doing. I'm not sure it's worth doing again.

There aren't many places to stage some fighters so most of my long-range raids are going to be unescorted. But still, they tend to be
expensive raids because they tend to get shot up pretty badly.

There was a small contest near Baker Island that hasn't ended yet. I expect them to tangle again in the near future.

There was another small contest near Christmas Island. My sub is outnumbered but might be able to get a hit on the transport
nonetheless. I'll leave him there to try again.

Operation Beat-Down at Clark Field is proceeding very slowly. I think the infusion of more troops will speed up the process a lot. I'm
tempted to try a DA just to see what happens.

At Palembang the DA reduced the Allied fort level there to 0 so the rest of the attacks will be more condusive to good results.

I got Larry's turn tonite and was just finishing my turn against TommyG, so the turn is back in Larry's hands... we're keeping up a pretty good pace so far.

FOW report. . . The Enterprise CVTF reported 2 separate SBD Dauntlesses hit the SS I-5, but nothing in the Combat report. Now I need to make haste out of there...

SBD-3 Dauntless reports submarine wake at 169, 98 near French Frigate Shoal
TBD-1 Devastator reports possible submarine at 169, 98 near French Frigate Shoal
SBD-2 Dauntless reports radio transmissions at 169, 98 near French Frigate Shoal
SBD-2 Dauntless from VS-6 attacking SS I-5 at 169,98
SS I-5 is reported HIT
SBD-2 Dauntless reports shadow in water at 169, 98 near French Frigate Shoal
SBD-2 Dauntless from VB-6 attacking SS I-5 at 169,98
SS I-5 is reported HIT
SBD-2 Dauntless reports suspected submarine at 169, 98 near French Frigate Shoal
TBD-1 Devastator reports submarine wake at 169, 98 near French Frigate Shoal

Larry has done an admirable job so far BUT P.I. and Singers seem to be the thorn in his side.

China is just...China-uggh!

As Jim said I received his moves Sunday pm and had to finish my moves for Rob before I could start working on Jim's game moves. So it's Monday pm now and the game has progressed to 16Jan42 and I have some combat results for 15Jan42 to display hereafter.

There was some bombardment of Koepang during the night and I got some unremarkable results. I'm going to have to do more and more bombardment of Koepang probably to soften it up a little for the ground troops.

DMS W-12 managed to clear some mines but the Allied mine indicator dot is still on the map so there may be more mines yet. I'm
hoping to see the fall of Palembang sometime soon so I can start moving resources and oil out of there to Hong Kong or somewhere.

I have no idea why this raid happened. Maybe the "ground" mission doesn't need to specify the target in all cases.
