Okay.......I finally got through with Rob's moves and got started on Jim's moves and ran the combat replay etc. Here's some combat results from the 20th of Dec:

The minefield at Hong Kong is being cleared as we speak. Those DMS's are as busy as beavers.

Jim has at least one sub operating near Davao. I wouldn't be surprised to find three or more.

My bombers are frequently finding naval targets but not hitting much. Maybe it's the long range.

I thought I'd start some ground pounding and see if I could make some headway. It's slow going evidently.

I'm still being nickel and dimed in the Rabaul area. I've got some air cover enroute but it's going to be a few days yet.

I'm still marching to the SW, toward Bataan. It's slow going though because of all the resistance.

I'm bombing Kuantan because that's where your planes are. I don't have the range to Singapore yet but I'm working on it. One time the FBI asked Jesse James why he kept robbing banks and he said 'cause that's where the money is.

You should have plenty of range from Kota Bharu, which is something like 8 hexes. Use 100 Sallys and an Oscar Daitai or two. Sweep Singapore with Zeros until you are satisfied the Allies aren't capping it. But always escort the bombers just in case they reappear. If you don't have enough air support, you can temporarily run missions short, and move Av support over from Kompong Trach, which is only 2 days sail.

You need to bomb Singapore daily to stop him from foritfying it

Q-BALL!!! Sigh... Like Larry NEEDS any more help kicking my Allies all over the Pacific!
Actually thanks to everyone reading this AAR and for the suggestions, it only helps us become better players

Larry;
I'm workin on the current turn now - can you give me a little time so I can catch up to your Dec 20th report? Otherwise we'll have readers flippin pages back n forth trying to make sense of it.
Readers - we have a couple exciting (for me anyway!) turns to get to - we are delayed a week due to OPSEC issues and appreciate your patience..

I did not know that. Cool. I'll have to move some planes around to make it happen but I'm thinking it's doable. Thanks Q-Ball dude. And for your information mr. moore dude....you're the one who wanted both sides represented in this AAR and if I was doing my separate AAR Q-Ball could have made his suggestion in IT and you wouldn't have known. LOL. Actually, to be fair I guess the next suggestion should help out the Allies. I've got a suggestion: start fortifing Darwin 'cause I'm headed that way.

Yeah, sure. Take your time. I've got all kinds of reports lined up but I can hold them until you give me the go ahead. I'm working on Rob's moves right now anyway.

Here's the list of future reports ready already.

Larry,
I think he means you can fly planes from bases where you don't have air support units (JNAF) yet. As long as you have supply there is a limited number of planes will fly from the base without "air support". He's saying it will only take 2 days to sail the air support units from Kompong Trach (once loaded and then the unload from your ships).

Q-Ball pointed out exactly what I was doing at Singers (loading up supplies/fuel and fortifying like crazy) for the coming attack... Thats why I was dropping hints to come overland, because that will take an extra week (insert subliminal messaging...LOL).

Its all good otherwise - I like this better so far and with over 1400 hits - somebody is reading our rookie (mis)adventures!

If you don't have enough air support, you can temporarily run missions short, and move Av support over from Kompong Trach, which is only 2 days sail.

I'm not familiar with the local vernacular.......what is it you do when you "run missions short"? Use only a few planes?

No, meaning I would max out the airbase, even if you are short on AV support. The OSCAR and SALLY have good maintenence ratings, so you'll be fine for a few days provided you start to bring over more AV support later. I would eventually move the Air HQ in Kompong Trach over, that will allow you to really sustain an air campaign.

PS: Larry, you should also grab Sinkawang or Kuching. It may as well be Singkawang. You need that to support a landing on Palembang, which you need to be thinking about ASAP. Move an AIR HQ to the base you capture, and you can fly Betty/Nells with torpedos over the Java Sea. Once that happens, it will be closed to Allied shipping, or at least any shipping that doesn't want to be a target. That will greatly simplify your conquest.

Larry,
I think he means you can fly planes from bases where you don't have air support units (JNAF) yet. As long as you have supply there is a limited number of planes will fly from the base without "air support". He's saying it will only take 2 days to sail the air support units from Kompong Trach (once loaded and then the unload from your ships).

Oh, wow. I REALLY didn't realize this. Coolness. I'm starting to see the light.

Q-Ball pointed out exactly what I was doing at Singers (loading up supplies/fuel and fortifying like crazy) for the coming attack... Thats why I was dropping hints to come overland, because that will take an extra week (insert subliminal messaging...LOL).

I completely missed your hints to come overland dude. I'm a little more dense than the ordinary garden variety tomato.

Its all good otherwise - I like this better so far and with over 1400 hits - somebody is reading our rookie (mis)adventures!

If you're happy I'm happy. I really like not being the only one to post stuff in an AAR. My Rob game adventure's AAR is like, just me posting stuff. Except for some of the more curious lot. Like me and you I'm guessing.

Oh..............okay. Yeah, I can do that. See, this is why I'm still a rookie, I'd no idea I should do that. Thanks muchly.

I think I might be able to arrange for some AF units, two or three. And an Air HQ unit would be nice too you say.....alrighty then I say let's make it happen. Lemme look around for a good one. Thanks. Man, this AAR is a blast Moore dude.

I was thinking of Singkawang myself just last night. Yeah, I dream this stuff too. It's' pretty cool, playing it out in your head somewhat.

I understand Pallembang to be one of the more important targets in this game. Kind of like how important Darwin is on the right side of the map. Or moreso. It's got the oil and resources and other goodies that are must have for a Jap player.

As a matter of fact I do have some Nells parked there ( Singkawang ) in my game with Rob. Great minds sometimes run in the same circles. LOL.

Larry - sounds good post away and I'll try to keep up... we probably should post the date as a header to keep track - even I was getting confused about what happened on which date...but then I'm confused most of the time about... Never Mind!

Hey Reader dudes: Jim and I did some PM's that helped me see what Jim and I should be doing all along.....just ignore the OPSEC rules and have fun. It's just a game. So I'm going to post all the stored up AAR snippets I have and Jim is going to do some posting of his stuff from the same time period and we're going to just lay it all out there for you to see. Ready Jim?
