Where are you planning on using your tank units?

Not big enough Port and not enough Naval Support. That is why the first AKE must be moved to Cam rahn Bay quickly.

Once you get Hong Kong you can also use this port to rearm. Helps to bring the Naval HQ at Samah over there.

The AKEs will help make the turnaround more speedy though, keeping the heavies in the DEI where you need them.

Units near CamRahn Bay with Naval Support (NS).

Saigon:
11 Special BF - 47 NS

Samah:
2 Fleet HQ - 90 NS
12 JAAF BF - 60 NS

Takao:
1st & 2nd BF - 60 NS/each
3 Fleet HQ - 90 NS
4th JAAF BF - 60 NS

Pescadore:
11 JAAF BF - 60 NS

If you can get the three units from Saigon and Samah to CamRahn Bay, you will have enough.

Even a short game against me for the first 30 days would have ironed out some of these 'lessons.'

You should be fine as long as the enemy assumes you re-armed with torps.

Allied CVs are moving from the Gilberts towards the Solomons, and his cruisers found one of my AMC raiders and sunk it without mercy....

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR Dec 14, 41
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Submarine attack near Tawi Tawi at 71,92

Japanese Ships
SS I-124

Allied Ships
xAK John Lykes, Torpedo hits 1, heavy damage

xAK John Lykes is sighted by SS I-124
SS I-124 launches 2 torpedoes

HK's fortifications are down to zero...hopefully tomorrow the base will be ours!

But the problem in China is now Canton....2 corps are sieging the city and i barely have 300 AVs there....will be a close call me guess!

At Luzon we conquered Legaspi and we're now closing the ring around Clark-Manila....

In malaya things are proceeding slowly... but tomorrow we'll start to sweep Singa with 36 Oscars and 30 zeros.

Kaga will go without torps (ryuho has just 6 of them remaining) for the moment. Then we'll replenish at HK waiting for the AKE to arrive.

Zuiho and 2 CVEs are re-sizing their airgroups and are reloading at Truk. Soon we'll start the operations against Rabaul and the Solomons. then we'll move back to the Eastern DEI.

Didn't understand that playing Japan was so difficult....

Tomorrow we'll also start sweeping Singapore, with 30 Zeros and 36 Oscars...let's see if i can start to reduce the fortress..

Force Z is still reported near Palembang... at the moment we're delivering at air HQ and an additional Base force at Singkawang...probably in one week the base could start to operate with nells and betties.

One week is a loooong time. You should have planned with a air HQ for Singkawang direct at start. Wouldn´t it be great to have it available right now ?
Where did you send the 3 air HQs from Saigon area at start ?

edit: after re reading it i think you mean level 4 airfield will be completed in a week, right ?

AF size 2 allows your Nell/Betty to carry torpedoes with the Air HQ at Singakawang. Make sure the HQ has 2x the needed amount available in torpedoes after it is fully unloaded (I would set it for 120 and load that many into the HQ). Restrict their range to 14 hexes and set your Zero to max range with drop tanks (14 hexes). Set your Nell/Betty to 20% Naval Search and actually set up search arcs to cover the strait between Sumatra and Java and down the Java Sea.

AF size 4 allows your Nell/Betty to carry a full bomb load.

An updated bill will be sent to you work address via FedEx tomorrow morning.

Although it doesn't look like it, Davao has a port and would put you one hex closer to your Mindanao targets. It also has resources you can start extracting.

I just wanted to point out how great it would have been to be able to use TORPEDO armed Nells or Betties from Singkawang direct after the capture instead of waiting
for the torps. Especially since you confirmed the Force Z is at Palembang. I wouldn´t worry too much about your speed. Too much risk because of high speed is never good for a first time jap player.
Playing safe is better, but not without doing as much damage as possible

Remember China is more about supply issues than anything else, and he dose not have the supply to maintain this aggressions,

Air attacks on troops in the open & the air base at Chungking will reduce his supplies. Did you reposition the Manchukuo air assets to Port Arthur and Jehol so they can hit the China? And I find I need extra air bases and construction crews in Hankow because it's the end of the big river and I can hit Chungking from there (also it's good to expand that port and dump supplies into Hankow & Wuchang every turn) Probe the towns along the Burma road with recon flights maybe you can make a para drop.

Well, i skipped that chance because i didn't want to give to the british cruisers at Singa the chance of hitting my convoys so easy...
However now i'm blaming myself for that choice...

Yes, 3 should be working allright...i could also re-base there Kaga's Kates once the Air HQ is there...

Palembang will be invaded within 10 days i think....5 SNLF/Naval Garrison units will be committed, plus a tank regiment....hope it's enough.... Tomorrow we'll start reconning Palembang and see what he has placed there

Bombing missions against airfields destorys his supplies. Run the Chinese out of supply and they will be like a big soft hairball (like a big furry dog that is shedding hairball, not a feline one) in your hand for you to throw in the trash.

When the Soviets attack in 45 will you find it gamey to use the air assets of the home island to attack Vladivostok, or for the Dutch air to support Singapore, or for the Australian air to attack the Japaneses in the DEI. Gamey ( but legal) is paying the political points for the 2nd air division HQ and getting the whole air army for a song.
